Better late than never, right? 😅

In true “busy small business owner” fashion, this incredible moment almost spent its life as just another one of our million open browser tabs. We were so honored to be interviewed by our alma mater, , about our journey starting Bloom Again.

It was a total full-circle moment to sit down and share the “why” behind our private practice and where we’re headed next.

POV: We survived our first year of business 🌱

Last month we officially hit the 1-year mark and the character development was… intense. 😅 If we’re being honest, we’re still processing.

From “why did we think we could do this?” to “this has been the most purposeful work of our lives”, we’ve felt it all. Huge shoutout to our community for being the literal heartbeat of Bloom Again, and to our inner circle for holding us up when the “struggle” got a little too real.

Beyond the self-doubt and the setbacks is a deep, unshakable passion for this work. It’s what makes the frustrations worth it and the wins feel like magic. Getting to do work we’re genuinely proud of every single day is a privilege we never take for granted. #

Year two, let’s go! ✨

🌱 Honoring Indigenous Roots of Healing

The practices we value in modern wellness, from mindfulness and connection to nature to the power of communal support and storytelling, often have deep roots in Indigenous cultures worldwide.

We must acknowledge that Westernized therapy and wellness often borrow and appropriate mental health and healing modalities that have sustained Indigenous Peoples for generations.

Let’s take a moment to reflect:
🌱 Acknowledge the Source: True healing requires recognizing the originators. When you engage in practices like deep, intentional breathing or walking in nature for grounding, remember that these are ancient, traditional ways of knowing.
🌱 Decolonize Wellness: We can be more respectful by seeking out and supporting Indigenous healers, elders, and educators who are sharing these practices from within their own cultural context.
🌱 Respect the Sacred: Many practices, such as certain ceremonies, songs, or the use of specific plant medicines, are sacred and should not be commodified or practiced outside of their cultural context.

Let’s move beyond appropriation toward appreciation, recognition, and genuine respect for the knowledge and resilience of Indigenous Peoples.

💡OCD Awareness Week: It’s Not What You Think.

This week is dedicated to shining a light on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

OCD is a serious, often debilitating mental health condition, defined by:
1. Obsessions: Unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that cause extreme anxiety and distress (like fear of harm, contamination, or doubt).
2. Compulsions: Repetitive behaviors or mental acts performed in response to an obsession to reduce anxiety (like checking, washing, or seeking reassurance).
