🧠 Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Training
Did you know you could be the turning point for a young person navigating a mental health challenge?
Join us for an engaging, hands-on, in-person training designed to equip adults with the skills and confidence to support youth ages 12–18. Whether you’re a parent, educator, caregiver, youth worker, or simply a supportive community member, this interactive course is for you.
👇 What You’ll Learn:
* Recognize: Spot the common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges in youth.
* Respond: Learn how to handle situations effectively when a young person is experiencing distress or a crisis.
* Connect: Safely guide youth to appropriate professional and community resources.
* Support: Aid early intervention efforts and help actively reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
🎖️ The Perk: Upon successful completion, you will receive an official YMHFA certification valid for three years!
📅 Event Details:
* When: Friday, July 17
* Where: Lakewood Boys and Girls Club
* Fuel Up: The training includes one 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. Please note that lunch is not provided, so feel free to pack your favorite meal and snacks!
