🎉 Congratulations to three outstanding members of our Redbird Smith Health Center team on earning their DNV Certified Healthcare Operations Professional – Executive (CHOP-E) certification!

Jennifer Scoggins, Deputy Clinic Administrator; Chris Thompson, Quality Management RN; and Henrietta Dreadfulwater-Champagne, Site Safety Officer have each demonstrated an exceptional commitment to excellence in healthcare operations.

The CHOP-E certification recognizes professionals who have mastered the standards required to maintain DNV accreditation — along with the requirements set by other regulatory agencies governing the physical environment and operations of healthcare facilities and programs. What an incredible day at One Fire Field! We are so grateful to everyone who joined Cherokee Nation Behavioral Health for Mental Health Awareness Day this past Saturday. Seeing our community come together — sharing food, laughter, culture, and connection — is exactly what mental health support looks like in action.

After 26 incredible years of service, we are celebrating the well-earned retirement of our Purchase Referred Care Supervisor, Suzanna Fine!

Suzanna joined Cherokee Nation Health Services in February 2011 as a Health Claims Auditor with Contract Health Services (now Purchased Referred Care). Over the years, she grew into a true pillar of our team — spending the last 11 years leading the Managed Care department with compassion, integrity, and genuine care for everyone around her.

Suzanna was the kind of leader who always made time to encourage, guide, and advocate — for her team and for every patient who depended on CNHS for quality care. In 2023, she was recognized as a finalist for the STARS of Service Compassion Award, an honor that speaks volumes about the impact she made.

Suzanna, your kindness, dedication, and spirit will be deeply missed. Thank you for 26 years of extraordinary service to our community. Wishing you all the joy and rest you deserve! 💚

Wado to everyone who laced up their shoes, cheered from the sidelines, or stopped by for a health screening at the Wings B.E.F.A.S.T. 5K Stroke Awareness Run on Saturday at the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center in Tahlequah! 🏃‍♀️❤️

In honor of , Cherokee Nation Public Health, Cherokee Nation Health Services, and Regional Brain Institute were proud to bring our community together for this meaningful event — and you showed up in a big way.

To our stroke survivors who walked, ran, or simply stood in that crowd: Your presence is powerful. This event exists because of you.

Remember: Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke. Knowing the B.E.F.A.S.T. signs and acting quickly can mean the difference between recovery and permanent disability. Let's keep spreading that message together.

Cherokee Nation Health Services is hosting a Car Seat Checkup event on Thursday, May 14, at the Cherokee Nation Children's Village Head Start from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Certified car seat installation technicians will assist in teaching parents the proper way to install a car seat. A limited number of complimentary car seats will be available to those who qualify. See more details below ⬇️
