Think about what you are thinking about! Are your thoughts healthy and life-giving? Learning to control your thought life affects your mental health, your emotional health, and your spiritual health.

Our intentional focus shapes our character, attitude, and ultimately, changes our life. Be encouraged to train your mind away from anxious, catastrophe, and toxic rumination. Instead, actively replace them with thoughts that are:

•True: Grounded in reality and honesty.

•Noble: Honorable and worthy of respect.

•Right: Just and fair in your actions toward others.

•Pure: Unstained by unselfish or malicious motives.

•Lovely: Beautiful and inspiring.

•Admirable: Commendable and reputable.

•Excellent / Praiseworthy: Anything exhibiting virtue or deserving

📖 Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Morning anxiety can ruin your entire day. But, there are ways to overcome it!

**Planning ahead and creating a routine** will help you feel in control and it can help you create margins in your day where you can take a breather! 😮‍💨

**Getting more sleep** will sharpen your focus, regulate your mood, and spur creativity.💤

**Journaling** can help you identify, process, and even understand your feelings in a healthy way. 📝

**Eliminating doomscrolling** will keep your mental energy in tact so that you remain positive and are more effective during the day. 📱 🫪

**Prayer & meditation** reminds you that you aren’t suppose to do life alone. You have a Heavenly Father who wants to help you be successful with a sound mind, stable emotions, and a regulated nervous system.🥰

Navigating pain, triggers and emotional wounds will take time. I talk about trusting God’s timing and process in our situations while using the analogy of baking. Just like different cakes require different baking times, God is doing something in and for you that takes time. I share three key ways to let God work: surrender control, trust the process, and see trials as necessary ingredients. Be encouraged not to open the oven prematurely but trust God’s plan completely.

Healing is a process that takes time. ❤️‍🩹⏰ 📆

Unfortunately we can’t package healing into a schedule that makes sense, because usually there are many variables involved in the healing process; and we are multi-faceted beings who are wonderfully complex.

So make peace with the timing of your healing and then make a commitment to yourself to show up every day to take the next step. Remember, it may get intense and even messy on the journey, but it will be worth it in the end!

A regulated nervous system is consistent with a biblical, holistic view of well-being! BUT a dysregulated nervous system (fight, flight, freeze) is NOT a lack of faith!

What is deregulation or a dysregulated nervous system?:

A dysregulated nervous system is a state where your body’s internal alarm system gets “stuck” in a stress response, even when there is no immediate danger.

Our Heavenly Father has created us as interconnected beings of spirit, soul (mind, will & emotions), and body. He has provided ways to regulate and He promises to meet each individual in the midst of their dysregulated state to bring comfort snd healing.

Overthinking is rooted in fear and it keeps you in this anxious “what if” mode, worrying about what could go wrong OR rehearsing mistakes, or choices from the past.

Remember that your thoughts are powerful and those thoughts influence your behavior, your decisions, and how you navigate life in general. Create a new habit this weekend by resting your mind and enjoying the present.

The control and safety that you are looking for will never come through your overthinking… but make an appointment with me and find out just how to experience the security and safety you’ve been looking for!
