Curious about the owners of the Pathway Program? You may have already met them, but just in case you haven’t…

The Pathway Program is owned and operated by Joshua and Valerie Azevedo, a couple who found recovery young, got married, and built a life raising two kids while helping other families do the same.

Joshua is a licensed counselor with more than 19 years of experience in inpatient, outpatient, and residential programs. He’s the program director and is on site at the Arizona center every day.

Valerie spent 19 years in program administration. She’s now a full-time mom and still consults regularly.

They know what early recovery actually feels like and they know what it takes to stay in it.

That’s why Pathway is built around more than just treatment. It’s built around giving young people a real chance to be happy and confident without substances.

When the people running the program have lived it, it shows.

Recovery doesn’t end when treatment does.
The weeks and months after leaving a program are some of the most important and most vulnerable. A strong aftercare plan isn’t extra. It’s essential.

That’s why The Pathway Program offers comprehensive aftercare at no cost to every young person who successfully completes treatment.

It includes: • Aftercare groups • Individual and family counseling • Alternative peer groups • Sober social events • Parent support groups

The goal is simple: stay connected, stay accountable, and keep using the tools they learned in treatment when real life starts again.

Pathway provides the best and most comprehensive and long-term aftercare drug abuse programs and services available near Phoenix, AZ, Santa Cruz and Sacramento, California.

Sometimes young people need a new environment to get sober.

The Pathway Program partners with Step Two Recovery Center for a 45-day residential treatment program. There is a program for adolescents 13-17, and another program for young adults ages 18-25.

Teens get 24/7 supervision, counseling, support groups, and sober activities while parents stay involved through parent counseling sessions and our parent support group.

Pathway provides substance abuse counseling and support group meetings for teens admitted into Step Two Recovery residential substance abuse treatment program.

Here’s an excerpt from the book Parent to Parent, written by parents who have personally navigated the challenges of supporting teens struggling with substance abuse.

If you’re going through something similar, this book provides honest insight, practical guidance, and real hope from people who understand.
