I’m teary eyed all over again, sharing with the world a tiny glimpse into the incredible experience of tattooing Maria
The Tatu is what everyone sees…
the beauty, the grace, the elegance…

and yet to sit with this woman’s energy was soul emotional, I hope this tender song can offer a vibe.

As I sang to her with my harmonium during our closing meditation, I was overcome with tears of gratitude

This is her first Tatu at 40!
She’s a Mother to 5 and the way she’s been blazing trails in her family is something to clap at!

…while staying with your training, putting in those clinical hours, holding space, showing up…

It’s no surprise you passed your boards with flying colors!

What a special journey we’ve been on to get to this moment. Jessica Lauren began our time together meeting in a container of mentorship sessions to provide structure and support during a big time in her life. And it lead us to make this custom ceremonial marking to commemorate a very important time in her life.

Some of what we traversed :

🌬️ reclamation of daily practices & a realignment of life force energy
🐍 accountability and non judgmental witnessing in the sharing of raw truths, navigating seasons of growth and change
💝 shared sacred sisterhood & motherhood connection

oh what a ride!

We went in deep with this collaborative journey - from the moment she said yes to this Tatu container, the ceremony truly began.

Candidly, she & I had some great windows of opportunity to meet the uncomfortable zones and sift through important ish … a real testimony to “doing the work” together.
We both learned a lot about identifying our desires, speaking up, listening, feelin heard & seen, setting boundaries, practicing safe communication, & trusting the path.
I’m so grateful for the growth edge we both met during this process!

While we in our co-creative space, I was reminded of the depth this work has to offer us if we’re willing and ready. Facilitator & recipient, artist & client, we really do weave back & forth with sharing our perspectives & wisdoms, teaching each other so much along the way.

This was Suzanne’s 2nd Tatu Ceremony - her other forearm piece is one we co-created together : 1 year healed.

I found a handful of these beautiful woven placemats for the table setting at the thrift and just knew I needed to rescue them as they are works of art! And they would definitely be destroyed within minutes at my house on the table 😅
(we got 3 kids over here )

Sewwww I reconfigured them to be wearable art instead of becoming crusty food catchers.
