These amulets are born out of some intense eclipse shi(f)t.
They hold a power & magic to help us remember that WE GOT THIS,
when we so easily have forgotten.
A reminder that rebirth is inevitable.
Even death knows that.

This summer whipped my ass in some hard & beautiful ways.
I took nearly a month off of drawing & creating.
A WHOLE ASS MONTH
Losing my stepdad, losing a dear ole friend, losing my sense of self….
caring for family who can’t care for themselves…
all those hospital trips, medical calls, perspective shaking conversations that lead to questioning everything all over again …
the equal parts breakthrough soul moments and sheer exhaustion….
the deep bows and dances with grief…

And here we are.
Moving forward, a prayer to be held accountable to that which wants my attention.
A call from the Most High to get aligned with what removes grasping and instead brings steadfast devotion.
A commitment to the change and rearrange, in some kind of mysterious design,
working its medicine through the roots and out the tree tops, renewing the pathways.

The message is clear : Re-enchant risk.
Magic lives where we most fear to seek it.

Hand Poke, as a traditional method of Tatu Medicine, is a reflection of nature’s pace & beauty.
We aren’t here to “bang it out” or “slap it on”

We’re choosing to slow down, listen, focus our attention, feel, receive the transmission and experience an empowerment like never before!

Memorial Tatus are so much more than a birthday or foot prints or a portrait….

Making Tatus to honor beloveds who have crossed over, who have now become an ancestor, is becoming more & more prevalent in my healing arts practice - it seems to be a significant part of the threshold tending I’m called towards.

No one wants to see their siblings die young.
And yet that is the path for some.
May their pain be transformed and their beauty live on.

1st ceremony with the beautiful, talented, oh so sweet & best kinda spicy LaLa | Sculptor & Ritual Artist

we’ll continue this piece down and across her back, snaking over to her opposite hip.

In the planning of this Tatu, Olivia requested we cover up a single letter of a word (someone else tattooed) on her hand 7 yrs ago - & eliminating that one letter changed this woman’s whole ass life y’all!

…that’s a wild story for another day!

Honestky, I was a bit nervous to take on this project as it’s outside of my typical realm.
but wow! …through the process I also learned to be like smoke, let go, and found such a creative & joyful, fluid satisfaction….

My fire is stoked for our next round ❤️‍🔥
