Absolutely LOVE the work that midwives do!!🫶🏽
Midwifery Works. Access is the Problem.
The problem isn't a lack of evidence. It's the barriers that keep families from accessing care.
Unnecessary restrictions, inadequate reimbursement, limited birth center availability, workforce shortages, and barriers to integrating midwives into the healthcare system all stand in the way.
Congress has an opportunity to help change that.
We urge lawmakers to support bipartisan legislation that expands access to midwives and birth centers, including:
📌 Midwives for MOMS Act — Strengthens the midwifery education pipeline.
📌 BABIES Act — Supports expanded access to birth centers and explores more effective payment models.
📌 Midwives for Service Members Act — Seeks to expand access to midwifery services for eligible military beneficiaries.
📌 Improving Care and Access to Nurses (I CAN) Act — Addresses barriers to care and practice for advanced practice registered nurses.
