Giving back to those who serve our community is something that’s close to my heart. Thank you to the Texarkana Texas firefighters for everything you do. It was an honor to show a small token of appreciation. Barnett Wellness Clinic will always be proud to support our first responders!

Your kindness and support mean so much to the men and women who serve our community every day. It’s because of community partners like you that our firefighters feel appreciated and encouraged.

First responders spend their days caring for others, often while carrying the physical and emotional weight that comes with serving in high-stress environments.

Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I spent five years working as a trauma ER nurse. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the demands placed on first responders, healthcare workers, and service members, and it is one of the reasons I now specialize in supporting their mental health and overall well-being.

I am incredibly thankful to partner with LMNT, a company that continues to show such generosity and genuine care for this population. Through their Give a Salt program, you can nominate a deserving first responder, department, station, military unit, or healthcare team to receive hydration support.

A few simple reminders:
• Take breaks if the crowds or noise become overwhelming.
• Stay hydrated (Try some LMNT 😉🧂), eat well, and get enough rest.
• Be mindful of alcohol.
• Check in with someone who may be spending the holiday alone.
• If fireworks are stressful for you, your children, or your pets, it’s okay to step away and create a quieter space.
