🚨 West Nile Virus Update 🚨

The Galveston County Health District has confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus this season in a Galveston County resident. While the individual had travel exposures outside the county, Mosquito Control is taking precautionary measures by trapping and spraying in the area.

• Wearing long sleeves and pants at dawn and dusk
• Eliminating standing water around your home
• Keeping doors and windows screened

Most people never develop symptoms, but severe illness can occur.
