A lot of folks don’t know that Texas actually has mountains. We even have a mountain called El Capitan! Believe it or not. The Guadalupe mountains are fabulous for camping and overnight solos. The variety of flora and fauna delights and surprises. I went to the Guadalupe to do it tonight solo camp out about a four hour hike in. So many revelations and inspirations are to be had when we spend time alone with nature. I’m so grateful. My parents never set boundaries about venturing out into the forest alone. They encouraged it. For all its faults, Texas is a pretty great state! Climb On! 🧗🙏🏼💕

About 6000 metric tons of sunscreen washed into the Oceans worldwide every year. And we wonder why the coral reef is bleaching. And just like with skin care, all sunscreens are not equal. And even though they say on their labels that they are safe, and Natural, most of the time it isn’t true. There are a few important points that are good to know if you want to commit to doing the right thing. ☀️The first thing is that you wanna only choose a non-nano zinc oxide sunblock. ☀️ the second thing is is you want to choose a base that is truly biodegradable and all natural. So if the sunblock that you’re using includes anything like disodium EDTA, dimethicone, squalene, alumina, hexanediol - the list of chemicals goes on - you want to avoid those. ☀️This Badger Balm SPF 50 is the perfect block. You can see it has only Bewswax, base oil and Vitamin E. ☀️Studies show that constant burning esp in the same spots is non-optimal, but that getting sunlight in small amounts, everyday is extremely healthy. ☀️We don’t need to wear make up base with SPF ☀️Testing your Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio with a simple test such as the omega quant off Amazon can be pivotal in, not only revealing if you need to supplement with omega-3, but study show that an inverse ratio with omega 6 creates a photo toxic environment on the skin. That’s why the correlation between skin cancer and the introduction of massive amounts of seed oils into our diet are correlated directly. ☀️ sunscreen is considered a drug by the FDA so we don’t make it, but I personally use Badger Balm and have for years. It’s the only SPF I ever buy. They are wonderful company and have been around a long time, super integrity. They have a lot of information about sunscreens and skin care on their website, too. ☀️ Have fun in the sun and use sunblock wisely.

I looked up the definition of father, and among the replies, it said: A man who raises a child, a male parent of an animal, a man who has begotten a child. None of those definitions describe what a father is. A father is one of the most major influences that a child can have. Emotionally, psychologically, spiritually, physically. The divine masculine represents a guiding force that can promote leadership and protection. Working in harmony with the divine feminine to create balance and wholeness. Regardless of what type of fathering we have received, the influence is undeniable. Maybe we learned self-love because we didn’t receive it from our father figure. Or maybe we were so loved by our father that we learn learned how to give love to others. For me today is the day to honor all the gifts I received from my father who, candidly, was a very wounded individual. My father taught me the gift of international travel. To live in harmony with the Earth. To feel comfortable being in the forest alone, or exploring out in the wild. My father also gave me the gift of farming, growing food and honoring the soil. In all the ways that I may perceive of him being deficient, those were the areas where I needed to take responsibility for myself and learn to heal, to reach out-and that’s a gift as well. So today we can honor all the aspects of fatherhood, parenthood, humans, and all the good and bad because it’s all a gift in the end.
