Looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend? The Kansas Department for Children and Families is hosting a free Touch-A-Truck Community Event this Sunday, June 14th, and Astra Mental Health & Recovery will be there!

Come on down, stop by, say hi, and grab some helpful mental health resources while you’re exploring the trucks.

The results are in… and our CEO got a pie to the face! 🥧💥

Throughout Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Astra employees raised money for the NAMI Foundation with a hilarious incentive on the line: the chance to choose a member of our Executive Team to take a pie to the face.

Thanks to the amazing generosity across our agency, we raised a grand total of $1,016 for NAMI!

Because she brought in the most donations, our CEO, Kathy Mosher, graciously stepped up to the plate. Swipe through the photos (and watch the video!) to see the hilarious aftermath.

To meet the physical and mental health needs of our neighbors who are homeless or unsheltered, we first have to know who they are, and where they are. This is why Astra Mental Health & Recovery and other community partners do a Point in Time count twice a year. The next count is June 24th. Kristy Hobbs, team manager for the HOPE program at Astra, visited WIBW to talk about it. Link to the interview, and more info on how you can help, in the comments.

Our Operations team works tirelessly behind the scenes every single day to keep Astra running smoothly. Their hard work and attention to detail often go unseen, but they are absolutely essential to our success.

To celebrate their hard work, the team recently got together for a "get to know you" session. As part of the fun, they collaborated on a gorgeous "stained glass" window mural to express their collective creativity and strengthen their teamwork.

A huge thank you to Mize Art Studio for volunteering to design and tape the mural outline for us! They helped create such an engaging, inclusive experience for everyone.

When our staff sent this photo from the Center for Crisis & Healing with the caption "Proof that staff at CCH are ready to give anyone a helping hand!" we just knew we had to share it.

At Astra, compassion and care are at the heart of everything we do—but we also believe that a healthy workplace means leaving room for joy, play, and occasionally, magnetic socks that refuse to let go. Our team is always ready to step up and support you and each other (and with style!).
