1 in 3 women experience urinary incontinence.

That's your best friend. Your sister. Your coworker. Probably you, reading this right now.

And almost none of them have ever said a word about it to anyone. Not because it isn't real. Because no one made it easy to talk about.

We started this page because too many women are carrying this quietly — and because that needs to change.

You are not alone in this.

Do you leak urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh, or exercise?

Do you find yourself rushing to the bathroom with little warning or planning your day around toilet access?

Many women assume bladder leaks are simply part of ageing, childbirth, or menopause. They're common, but they are not something you should just accept.

The truth is that urinary incontinence isn't one condition. There are several different types, each with different underlying causes and different treatment approaches.

In our latest article by Urogynecologist Prof Geoff Cundiff, he explains:
✅ How normal bladder control works
✅ The different types of urinary incontinence
✅ Common causes and risk factors
✅ When it's time to seek help
✅ Why understanding the cause is the first step to finding the right treatment

Understanding why you're leaking is often the first step towards taking back control. Read the full article below 👇

Urinary incontinence affects millions of women, but it is not an inevitable part of life, it is a symptom with identifiable causes.

Your bladder might be sending confusing signals—but understanding them is the first step to relief.

Many women mistake urgency for a full bladder, but overactive bladder (OAB) tricks your brain into thinking you need to go when you don't. The good news? Conservative treatments can help retrain these signals without medications or surgery.

Conservative therapy focuses on:

Bladder retraining techniques
Pelvic floor strengthening
Lifestyle modifications
Habit tracking to identify triggers

Most women see improvement within 6-8 weeks when they stick with a structured program. Your bladder learned these patterns—it can unlearn them too.

November is Bladder Health Awareness Month.
3 Common Myths About Stress Incontinence:

MYTH #1: "It's normal after having kids"
TRUTH: It's common (1 in 3 women), but it's not "normal."
Stress incontinence is a medical condition caused by weakened
pelvic floor muscles or loss of bladder support—and it responds
to treatment.

MYTH #2: "Just do Kegels"
TRUTH: About 50% of women do Kegels incorrectly, squeezing
glutes or abs instead of pelvic floor muscles. Proper pelvic
floor training requires specific technique and progressive
strengthening.

MYTH #3: "Surgery is the only real solution"
TRUTH: Most women improve with conservative treatment:
targeted pelvic floor exercises, behavioral techniques, and
lifestyle modifications. Surgery is rarely the first-line
treatment.

Stress incontinence (SUI) causes leaks during coughing,
sneezing, laughing, or exercise. If you experience this,
know that it's treatable and you have options.

Did you know? 62% of women experience bladder leaks at some point.

But less than 30% ever get help.

Why?

Because we've been told it's:
- ""Normal after kids""
- ""Just part of aging""
- ""Something to be embarrassed about""

Here's the truth: Urinary incontinence is a medical condition with real treatments.

You're not alone. You're not overreacting. And you don't have to accept it as your ""new normal.""

November is Bladder Health Awareness month.
