Mental health is an essential part of our overall health and well-being. Research consistently shows that supportive relationships, meaningful connection, and early access to mental health care can improve emotional well-being and long term outcomes.

On World Mental Health Day, let’s continue to normalize conversations, reduce stigma, and remind one another that seeking support is a sign of strength. 🩷

This morning, Southside Behavioral Health was honored to participate in the Out of the Darkness Community Walk with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP). 🩷

It was incredibly meaningful to see so many in our community come together to remember loved ones, support those who are struggling, and remind one another that no one should have to walk through the darkness alone.

At SSBH, we believe deeply in the power of connection, compassion, and simply showing up for one another.

There is hope. There is help. And there are people willing to walk beside you. 🩷

Make room for what can bloom. 🌸

You don’t have to wait until life feels overwhelming to invest in your emotional well being!

Therapy doesn’t have to begin in a crisis. It can begin at any time. Often what brings people to therapy is a desire to understand themselves more deeply, strengthen their relationships, and recognize patterns, creating healthier boundaries, or simply making space for growth.

Sometimes we come to therapy not because everything is falling apart, but because we’re ready for something new to grow. 🩷

Grief can bring big feelings, and kids don’t always have the words to explain what they’re experiencing. Your child doesn’t need you to have all the answers. They need to know they’re safe, heard, and not alone. 🩷

Parents can help create emotional safety by:

✨Making space for questions and feelings without trying to “fix” them
✨Keeping routines as consistent as possible
✨Using simple, honest, age-appropriate language
✨Remembering that grief may show up through behavior, not just sadness
✨Reassuring kids that all feelings are okay

Reach out for extra support. If someone you care about is grieving, make the call, send the text, check in again. Small moments of connection can mean so much. Healing Through Connection.🩷

Good evening, Jenks. 🩷

I am the owner of Southside Behavioral Health. More importantly, I’m a mom and friend. My heart is with the dear families, precious friends, classmates, teachers, and our entire Jenks community who have been impacted by recent losses.

Through both my personal experience and my professional experience supporting individuals and families, I know how deeply grief can affect every part of life. Every grief journey is different, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. As we move through this difficult time together, we as parents, our children, and loved ones may experience many different emotions.

Please continue checking on one another. If someone crosses your mind, call them. Send the text. Sit with them. Check on your children and their friends, even when they seem or say they are okay. We don’t have to have the perfect words to remind someone that they are loved and not alone.

We at Southside Behavioral Health have been honored to walk alongside children and teens, adults, couples, and families in Jenks and the surrounding communities. Since 2014, we have had the privilege of getting to know and care for so many wonderful people, and we are deeply grateful for the trust families have placed in us. Our compassionate, competent, and experienced team of therapists truly care about the people and families we are honored to serve.

If you, your child, a friend, or someone you love could use a little extra support right now, please know that we are here. 🩷

With love to our Jenks community.

✨ Southside Behavioral Helath, LLC book recommendation for women who are ready to change the intimacy and realtionship dance.

The Dance of Anger by Harriet Lerner is a timeless read about understanding anger not as something to suppress, but as a signal that boundaries, relationships, or long standing patterns may need attention.

At Southside Behavioral Health, LLC we help women and men identify unhealthy relationship patterns, strengthen boundaries, communicate more effectively, and reconnect with their own needs and voice.

Sometimes changing the relationship starts with changing your steps in the dance. 🩷
