If your child is in the “why” phase, it can feel like you’re answering questions from sunrise to bedtime. But all of those “why” questions are actually a sign of something important happening in the brain!
Young children are learning that other people have knowledge they can access, while also building language, reasoning, curiosity, and theory of mind. As tempting as it is to give a quick answer and move on, sometimes the most powerful response is, “What do you think?”
