What does an evidence-based care plan look like?

A plan that adapts to them, and isn’t the same one that every other person is getting.

It isn’t 30+ appointments, it’s 6-8 (maybe 10 if it’s a severe case).

So if you’re having someone tell you that you need 20+ appointments and to spend thousands of dollars, and weekly or monthly check-ups forevermore to feel good, then give us a call. We got you covered.

What type of service do you want: one that is going to continue to cost you money in perpetuity, or one where when you pay for the service, get what you want, and then some?

When it comes to helping my patients, you’ll never hear me say “you need to see me every week to stay healthy”. I want to empower you to do what you love and feel confident doing so.

My patients often times spend far less money for more than the typical chiropractor gives them, and as a consumer myself, I know the value of that.

I’m of the age where I remember having a washing machine that lasted 10+ years for a household size of 6-10 people. I remember when my dad finally replaced that washing machine, and the new one broke within a couple years.

Maybe I’m just an old guy now, but when it comes to the quality of the service I provide, I always aim for giving more than you pay for.

So I’ll ask you: is it worth the investment to actually fix something you’ve been dealing with, or do you want to spend your money on quick relief that doesn’t last?

Have you ever noticed that when you’re stressed out, you physically feel crappier?

That’s not your brain playing tricks on you, it’s actually a bodily response to that stress.

Stress can put you into “fight or flight” aka sympathetic mode, and when you are “stuck” in that mode, your body will start to respond.

When you feel stressed, and your body is responding to that stress by feeling tight or painful, one thing to do is find a way to decrease that fight or flight response, and get back into “rest and digest”, or parasympathetic mode.

It’s not always possible to decrease our stressors, but we can work on regulating our response to it, and support our bodies to feel better.

Do you get shoulder pain when you’re working out, running errands, or just living life?

The shoulder is an awesome joint in that it is the most mobile, and least stable, joint in the human body. It allows us to do SO MUCH, but it also has a lot that can go “wrong” with it.

Getting a thorough evaluation including a movement assessments can take a lot of the guesswork out of getting your shoulder feeling and functioning better.

Who has been told their sciatica is because of a tight piriformis? Poor piriformis being blamed for everything.

Research data estimates that about 6-8% of sciatica is actually CAUSED by the piriformis muscle compressing the sciatic nerve. We estimate that 70-80% of the time, it’s actually being caused by compressions at the spine, typically from a disc injury.

If you’ve had true piriformis syndrome, and you’ve had a disc injury causing sciatica, then you know that they feel and respond to treatment differently.

The best course of action when you have sciatica to to find a chiropractor or physical therapist who has been trained in the McKenzie Technique.

This is a movement-based assessment and treatment protocol that finds the movement that helps your symptoms improve and stay improved. It’s the most effective treatment I’ve implemented in my practice.

The great thing is that once you find your “directional preference”, you won’t need to come back in the office as long as that exercise is working, saving you money!

We offer McKenzie Assessments for sciatica via telehealth for those located in California, and in-person in the SF Bay Area.

Yeah, I’m kinda weird. I used to think that it was a weakness to be the “odd one out”. Nowadays, I think it’s more of a strength, because it enpowers my patients.

I like to tell my patients to be the weirdos in their office/at work.

Be the one doing exercises throughout the day. Be the one who asks for all the equipment so your body doesn’t get too stressed. Make that double/triple chin doing chin tucks. Do your TMJ exercises at the stoplight. Do your back extensions waiting in line at the bank.

Be the weirdo, my friends. Your body may actually be better off for it.
