📱 Neck pain isn’t always caused by an injury.

Sometimes it’s the little things you do every day, like how you use your phone.

The good news? You don’t need perfect posture and you definitely don’t need to throw your phone away.

A few simple adjustments can help reduce stress on your neck, decrease tension headaches, and keep you moving comfortably throughout the day.

If you’ve been dealing with persistent neck pain, headaches, or stiffness, it may be time to get to the root cause.

Stretching more isn’t always the answer.

One of the most common things I hear is:

“I feel so tight all the time.”

The assumption is usually that muscles are the problem.

But many times, stiffness is a signal that something else isn’t moving or functioning the way it should.

A good warm-up can help.

And if it doesn’t?

That’s useful information too.

If you’re constantly dealing with stiffness, tight hips, back tightness, or feeling like your body needs forever to get going, send me a DM with WARMUP.

Let’s figure out what’s really going on.

Green flags!

There is a very big difference between a chiropractor who tries to find the specific issue and help you with it, and a chiropractor who has the same explanation and treatment plan for everyone.

An evidence-based chiropractor will use the best evidence available to be able to find what is happening, and then create a specific plan to help.

We know that research and protocols don’t help every single person, and sometimes there isn’t a lot of evidence available. In these situstions, having a competant evidence-based chiropractor can help you save precious time and money.

Your desk isn’t the problem.

Your setup, and lack of movement, is.

Fix these 3 things:
✔️ Screen at eye level
✔️ Arms relaxed, not reaching
✔️ Move every 30–45 minutes

That’s where most people should start.

If that’s not enough, there’s usually something more specific going on.

Last red flag for you!

When it comes to finding a chiropractor, if all you know is that we help with pain, then you’re putting yourself in a situation where your time and money may get wasted.

We know from research that typically after 18 appointments of adjusting, the benefit isn’t noticeable. Meaning that adjustment number 36 is not going to feel any better than adjustment number 18.

Clinical guidelines say that 12 appointments in 4 weeks is an appropriate care plan. As in the whole care plan. It has never been the case where I have needed to see a patient that frequently, and most of my patients are done with care within about 6-8 appointments over the course of 8-12 weeks.

We work on mobility and stability control, functional movements, and lifestyle changes that can decrease the stress on your body. We do adjustments, but we do a whole lot more in our longer than average appointments to get you back to what you love in less time with more sustainability.

So if you have been dealing with back pain, neck pain, sciatica, or something else, we have a way to help you!

Here’s the deal: I personally don’t care what someone’s philisophical or religious beliefs are, as long as the aren’t using it as their guide for diagnosing and treating patients.

If I go to the ED for a heart attck, as long as my physucian is using evidence-based medicine to treat me, then whatever gets you through the day.

Since “subluxation” has been defined medically as a near or partial dislocation of a joint for over 300 years, I’m gonna go ahead and go with that.

Link to the blog where I reference the “study” that showed decreased nerve conduction with the weight of a dime is in my linktree on my bio.

Since that study doesn’t exist, and all the others that “support” this philosophical belief don’t actually show clinical significance, I think that trying to convince you something that has never been proven to exist in order to get you to come in more and spend more money is probably pretty icky.

If your squat has plateaued…
it’s probably not because you’re weak.

It’s because your body is working around limitations instead of through them.

And every time you add more weight, you’re reinforcing the problem.

The goal isn’t to push harder.

It’s to move better.
Fix your mobility.
Build control.
Then load it.

That’s how you stay active without beating up your body.

If your squat doesn’t feel right, I can help you figure out why 👇

DM me “SQUAT” or book a visit.

Does everyone need to be Xrayed?

Absolutely not! In fact, getting imaging when it isn’t medically necessary can lead to longer recovery times.

❓So when do I need an Xray?

âś… When I need to know if there is something that will affect what happens in the office.

This typically means, from your history and exam, I suspect that there is a structural problem (instability, fracture, etc) or there is an underlying health concern (like cancer or infection, for example). These are things that will definitely change the type of treatment you receive (and also tells me that you likely need a different provider).

Don’t fall prey to these common tactics that are used to separate you from your hard-earned money.

At Alameda Chiropractic & Ergonomics, we don’t do unnecessary testing or treatments, and we give you a realistic plan that supports you to be able to gain confidence in managing your issue on your own.

We don’t weigh you because it literally isn’t relevant to my job.

“Fat” is not an orthopedic diagnosis. There are few studies which show a mechanical cause of weight gain if the weight gain was steady. As far as the evidence says, excess bodyweight contributes to pain via metabolic changes which promote inflammation.
