I often pushed through the tightness in my shoulders.
It felt like a badge of honor to keep moving, to keep functioning.
But deep down, I could sense the weight building.
Each day, I would settle into the discomfort, thinking it was just part of life.
I ignored the early whispers of strain, convincing myself that nothing was technically wrong.
It wasn’t until I felt a sharp ache that I realized I had crossed a threshold.
My body finally shouted, ‘Enough!’
In that moment, I was forced to pause.
The discomfort lingered, a heavy reminder of what I had been carrying.
I sat with it, feeling the weight of my choices.
There was no quick fix, no immediate relief.
Just the stillness of my breath and the quiet ache of my body.
I reflected on how I often treat care as something to be earned, rather than maintained.
It’s a lesson I’m still learning.
How do we listen to our bodies when they speak?
Can we honor their needs before they escalate?
I’m still exploring these questions, allowing the discomfort to guide me.
