Halloween is great, but some traditions can feel overwhelming for people living with dementia:
👻 Scary costumes and masks
🩸 Decorations that feel too real
🔔 Constant doorbells, strangers, and disrupted routines
❤️ Being left out of the fun
Everyone living with dementia is different, but celebrations should be comfortable, inclusive, and meaningful.
That’s why our Kind Kids Program at The Village by Brandywine Concierge is hosting Reverse Trick-or-Treating! Kids will visit local senior living communities in costume and hand out candy to residents instead of collecting it. 🍬
It’s a simple, joyful way to build kindness, empathy, and intergenerational connection while making sure older adults can be part of the celebration, too.
And we’re planning more experiences throughout the year, including dinners, pajama parties, gratitude trees, and Christmas caroling.
Because growing older shouldn’t mean growing apart. ❤️
If you’re worried about someone you love who is living with dementia—or if you’re unsure how to support an aging parent through changing needs—you don’t have to navigate it alone. I help families find compassionate, practical solutions through Brandywine Concierge Senior Services. Send me a message anytime.
