What a great way for Rahway students to kick-off the school year! Thanks to the RWJUH Rahway family for hosting their back-to-school donation drive, bringing together the community to help students start the year feeling prepared and supported. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered and helped make a difference, including Rahway Community Action Organization, The Gateway Family YMCA - Rahway Branch, RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center at Carteret and RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center, Rahway Public Library and the City of Rahway.

Congratulations to Gerda Morisseau, a nursing assistant, on receiving our STAR (Special Treatment at Rahway) Award for June!

An excerpt from her recommendation letter reads as follows:
“I would like to recognize Gerda for being a wonderful nurse’s aide. Gerda was amazingly attentive every time she was on the unit. She was constantly checking in to make sure I had everything I needed and relaying my needs to my nurse when she was held up with other patients. However, the thing that really set her apart was her positive and caring attitude.”

“During my admission at RWJ Rahway, Nikos was one of my nurses. He was very kind and professional. He listened to all my concerns and acted accordingly. Nikos also informed me that he was new and was finishing his nursing training. His professionalism and kindness truly impressed me. Thanks to the generosity of Project Linus, patients throughout RWJUH Rahway will feel warm, cozy and comforted during their hospital stay. Karen Rinaldi delivered a supply of these handmade gifts to the Emergency Department on behalf of the Project Linus chapter ‘Blanketeers’. Often times, it’s a simple gesture like this donation that can make the difference when a patient needs it most.♥️

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway team delivered two truckloads of frozen food to our partners at the Rahway Community Action Organization (RCAO). RCAO has been serving children and families of Union County since 1967 through programs like the Helping Hands Learning Academy and the Rahway Family Success Center. The organization helps RWJUH Rahway in fulfilling its mission to create healthier communities by putting food on the table for local families in need.
