Mr. Cedric La’Mont “Say Say” Peebles

It is with heartfelt sympathy that the management and staff of Johnson Memorial Funeral Home announce the passing and Celebration of Life arrangements for Mr. Cedric La’Mont “Say Say” Peebles.

A beloved son, father, friend, and hometown legend, “Say Say” was known for his love of life, infectious personality, and unforgettable smile that could light up any room. He loved people, enjoyed making others laugh, and was truly the life of the party. His joyful spirit and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.

A proud graduate of Bullock County High School and Alabama State University, Mr. Peebles was a member of Bullock County High School’s 2008 Class 4A Boys Basketball Championship Team. His legacy extended far beyond the basketball court, as he will forever be remembered for the friendships he built, the lives he touched, and the love he shared.

On behalf of Johnson Memorial Funeral Home and The Law Office of Orlando R. Johnson, LLC, we are excited to celebrate Homecoming 2026 with our community!

As we prepare to distribute our FREE Hornet Nation T-shirts today, please review the following instructions to help ensure a smooth and organized giveaway.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2026

Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Location: Johnson Memorial Funeral Home
401 Martin Luther King Boulevard South
Union Springs, AL 36089

HOW IT WORKS:

1. ENTER THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR. All participants must enter the funeral home through the main entrance.
2. FOLLOW STAFF DIRECTIONS. Once inside, you will be directed to the appropriate room based on your requested T-shirt size.
3. RECEIVE YOUR FREE T-SHIRT. Each person will receive ONE T-shirt only, while supplies last.
4. EXIT THROUGH THE CHAPEL DOOR. After receiving your shirt, please exit through the chapel door to allow others to enter.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

* ONE SHIRT PER PERSON — NO EXCEPTIONS!
* You MUST be physically present to receive a shirt.
* We will NOT hold, reserve, or set aside shirts for anyone.
* You cannot pick up shirts for family members or friends who are not present.
* Shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
* Distribution will NOT begin before 3:00 PM.

At Johnson Memorial Funeral Home, we believe every detail should reflect the life, love, and individuality of the person being remembered—from the floral arrangements to the personalized touches at the gravesite.

Families often ask: What is the difference between a burial vault and a concrete grave liner?

A concrete grave liner is a basic outer container placed around the casket. Its main purpose is to support the surrounding earth and help keep the grave from sinking. It is generally unlined and unsealed, allowing groundwater to enter and drain. (wilbert.com)

A burial vault also supports the earth above the grave, but includes an interior lining and a sealing system designed to resist water intrusion and provide additional protection for the casket. Many burial vaults are also made of concrete—the lining and seal are key differences. (wilbert.com)
