After a critical incident, the body can stay in survival mode even after the immediate danger has passed.

You may feel restless, overwhelmed, numb, irritable, exhausted, unable to sleep, or constantly on alert. Sometimes, talking about what happened feels like too much.
Acu-Wellness offers another place to begin.

Using a standardized five-point ear acupuncture protocol, Acu-Wellness may help support the nervous system, reduce feelings of acute stress and agitation, and create space for the body to begin settling. There is no pressure to talk, explain, or retell what happened. You can simply sit, breathe, and receive support.
Acu-Wellness can be offered individually or in a group setting following community crises, traumatic events, or other critical incidents.

It may be especially supportive for:

• First responders
• Healthcare professionals
• Educators and school staff
• Parents and caregivers
• Community members directly or indirectly impacted

This is not a replacement for medical care, crisis intervention, or ongoing mental health treatment. It is one gentle, accessible way to support the body during an incredibly difficult time.
I am available to provide Acu-Wellness support at Legacy of the Rose-Center for Healing and Enlightenment in Staunton, on-site for local organizations and community groups affected by the recent tragedy in Waynesboro, free of charge.

Offered at Legacy of the Rose-Center for Healing and Enlightenment every Friday from 3pm-5pm.

PSA: FREE SUPPORT AVAILABLE FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY TODAY’S EVENTS IN WAYNESBORO

Transcendia Healing Services is offering free support for individuals impacted by today’s events in Waynesboro, including first responders, healthcare workers, witnesses, community members, and others directly affected.

I have over a decade of experience in the mental health field, with a significant portion of my career spent working in crisis services in both outpatient and hospital settings. I have also worked extensively with trauma and vicarious trauma, including supporting first responders and other professionals regularly exposed to crisis.

As the wife of a former first responder, I also understand that sometimes the last thing you want to do after experiencing something traumatic is sit down and talk about it.

You do not have to talk to receive support.

In addition to therapy and crisis processing, I am offering Acu-Wellness, a standardized five-point ear acupuncture protocol that has been used in collective crisis and disaster response settings to support individuals experiencing acute stress, emotional overwhelm, and agitation.

No processing required. No expectation to tell your story. You can simply come in, receive the treatment, and leave.

Free services are available:
• In office in Staunton, VA
• Via telehealth
• On-site when appropriate
• Individual and Group crisis/trauma support
• Acu-Wellness

🐾 Artemis is up for Pet Grand Marshal! 🎄

Before Artemis became a therapy dog, she spent more than a year at the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Animal Shelter, waiting for someone to choose her.
She watched other dogs come and go while she waited patiently for just the right fit. Then, after more than a year, Artemis finally found her forever home.

Today, she spends her days helping others on their healing journeys, offering comfort when it is needed most, and bringing smiles to nearly everyone she meets. Artemis is a true shelter success story and a beautiful reminder that sometimes the ones who wait the longest simply have not met the people they are meant to find yet.

Now, Artemis has the chance to lead the 2026 Downtown Staunton Christmas Parade as its first-ever Pet Grand Marshal!

Three years ago, I recorded a video during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

I had a four-month-old baby, a three-year-old little girl, and I was struggling with postpartum depression while trying desperately to keep my head above water.

Personally and professionally, it felt like life had become one blow after another.

I had spent years trying to fit myself into the box of who I thought I was supposed to be.

I built a career in mental health because I genuinely wanted to help people, but the deeper I went, the more I began questioning the system around me and whether I still belonged in it.

For a long time, I thought something was wrong with me because I couldn’t just accept what didn’t feel right.

Now I understand that I wasn’t falling apart.

I was beginning to see the truth.

This is the story of what happened when the life I had worked so hard to build stopped fitting the person I was becoming.

Apparently, This Is My Life.

From Resident Therapist straight out of grad school working in community mental health while navigating a pandemic and a newborn baby to owning my own private practice, starting a nonprofit, and walking alongside others in their journeys to finding themselves. Somewhere along the way I took my own power back and decided to no longer allow outside forces to tell me who I was supposed to be.
