Module Mapping Updates & New Tools Coming Soon 📌

The modules mapped to the CFPC’s 105 key topics continue to be updated quarterly and are always live on the main FMPE webpage in both English and French.

Programs continue to report that they are using this mapping tool to assist with choosing and mapping modules for their site curricula.

Looking ahead over the next year...

We plan to develop more tools like this, including:

• An easy-to-use “playbook” for sites to better incorporate our modules into their curriculum.
• Tips on which modules work well for early learners at the start of PGY-1.
• Further guidance on how to engage the group to complete the reflection tool at the end of sessions to promote lifelong learning.

Resident CME Credit Update: Personal Residency Practice Reflection Tool (PRT) 📌

After piloting the Personal Practice Reflection Tool (PRT) with the Resident Advisory Committee, we are pleased to roll it out for all residents in the new academic year.

This tool allows residents to accumulate CME credits (up to 40) that will roll over into their post-residency period.

How it works
Trainees will need to complete a module on their own—either using the traditional module format or the online interactive version—and then complete the Personal Practice Reflection Tool (PRT).

Follow-up and accreditation
Several months later, residents complete the follow-up portion of the PRT and become eligible to obtain Mainpro+ credits through the CFPC, as these are CFPC-accredited activities. Credits will be issued and submitted automatically to the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) by mid-June annually.

🤝 Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are an essential part of today's primary care teams—and they're an important part of the FMPE community too.

More than 500 NPs and PAs participate in FMPE's Practice-Based Learning Program (PBLP), joining peers in practical, case-based learning designed for real-world primary care.

Through individual and small-group learning, participants collaborate across disciplines, share perspectives, and gain insights they can apply immediately in practice. Whether your focus is chronic disease management, preventive care, mental health, or complex patient care, PBLP supports your ongoing professional development in an engaging, collaborative environment.

Learn alongside your peers and strengthen the future of team-based primary care. 👏

"Building a More Connected Residency Experience", Interview with Dr. Peter Tzakas, Residency PBLP Director
