Sinecera Care is proud to support Adults 50+ in southern Weld County by connecting them with local Neighbors who are looking for meaningful income and a chance to make a difference. Whether it’s running errands, sharing conversation, or offering an extra hand, these Neighbors help make daily life a little brighter. 🌞

Recently, Acts of Connection hosted a Cultivating Connections Workshop for Sinecera Care. We spent the evening exploring the importance of social connection, how it impacts our health, and what it looks like to build meaningful relationships. It was an evening full of great conversations, thoughtful reflection, and pizza.

Want to bring a Cultivating Connections workshop to your staff or community? We’d love to connect! Visit ActsOfConnectionWeld.org or call 970‑400‑1235 for more information. And, don't forget to check out Sinecera Care at sinecera.care.

As Loneliness Awareness Week comes to a close, it’s a great time to explore ways we can find new connections and strengthen our existing connections. Building social connection can be tough, but small, intentional actions can make a meaningful difference.
Here are a few ideas to help you connect with others:
▪️Get regular physical activity, like walking with a friend or joining an exercise group
▪️Find a way to volunteer in your community or help a friend
▪️Spend time on hobbies you enjoy, especially those you can share with others
▪️Learn something new through a class, club, or community program
Check out the Acts of Connection Weld Resources page on our website for local ideas and opportunities for connecting.

This week, we learned about recognizing and responding to loneliness, and the importance that holds for the health of ourselves and our communities. Let’s carry this awareness forward and work together toward a more connected community.

Human beings are biologically wired for connection. Over many years, our brains have adapted to expect being close to others. Lacking connection hurts our health and wellbeing because it is as essential to survival as oxygen, food, water, and shelter. When we get lonely, it’s a sign that we could ...

Loneliness isn’t just a feeling, but it can affect both our mental and physical health. Consistent loneliness has been linked to higher stress, trouble with sleep, increased risk of depression or anxiety, and greater risk of certain long‑term physical health conditions.

When we notice signs of loneliness in someone we care about, it’s important to respond. Here are a few simple ways to take action:
▪️Ask how they’re feeling and if they think they may be lonely
▪️Stay in touch with them
▪️Suggest activities you can do together
▪️Follow through on commitments you’ve made to them
▪️Help them connect with a professional if the signs are persistent

Supporting one another is an important step in creating opportunities for connection, both for ourselves and others.

Loneliness can show up in many different ways, and noticing the signs, whether in ourselves or others, is an important step in creating a culture of connection. Some common signs of loneliness include:
▪️ Seeming isolated or disconnected from others
▪️Saying they feel like no one understands them
▪️Saying they have no one to talk to
▪️Telling you they feel sad and/or lonely
▪️Changes in energy levels, appetite, or ability to focus

Everyone experiences loneliness differently, but paying attention to these signs can help us reach out, offer support, and build meaningful connection. We also recognize that these signs can be a concern for other mental health challenges, and that sometimes the best support is helping someone connect with a professional.

Throughout Loneliness Awareness Week, we encourage you to check in with the people in your life and with yourself.

Over 1 in 4 Weld County residents are experiencing loneliness, and over 1 in 10 are experiencing social isolation. But what's the difference between loneliness and social isolation?
• Loneliness is a mental and emotional state where we feel isolated, or disconnected, from others. We can be surrounded by others, and yet still feel lonely.
• Social isolation is a physical state. It happens when we have few relationships or limited social support, which can often lead to feelings of loneliness.

Understanding the difference matters because they don’t always have the same solutions. Still, both can negatively affect our health and both reflect a lack of meaningful social connection.

A key first step in addressing loneliness or isolation is recognizing it - whether in ourselves or in others. Taking a Connection Quiz can a useful tool for periodically checking in on how connected we're feeling. Visit ActsOfConnectionWeld.org to explore resources and take the quiz!

‼️This week is Loneliness Awareness Week‼️
We often hear about loneliness, but what does it really mean? Loneliness is the feeling we experience when the meaningful connection we want isn’t the connection we’re getting.

Everyone experiences loneliness at different times and in different ways. Loneliness Awareness Week gives us a chance to reflect on our own experiences while also supporting others who may be feeling disconnected.

Join Acts of Connection throughout the week as we share about the signs and causes of loneliness, how it relates to our mental and physical health, and resources to foster and strengthen social connection. To start the week, we encourage you to visit LonelinessAwarenessWeek.org to learn more about loneliness awareness and why it matters.

Loneliness Awareness Week aims to open conversations about loneliness and reduce the stigma. Join us from 15 - 27 June 2026! Brought to you by Marmalade Trust.

Introducing CircleTalk!

Acts of Connection Weld is excited to announce that we are looking for facilitators to lead CircleTalk discussions. CircleTalk is a conversation-based program where small groups of adults come together on a weekly basis (for at least 6 weeks) to share life experiences and find community and belonging. Acts of Connection will be covering the cost of the facilitator training, as well as act as a support system for facilitators for the weekly meetings! If you or anyone you know is interested, or would like more info, please contact us at [email protected].

Everyone deserves to belongto something. Connection. Belonging. Community.
