U-Step Neuro Walker The U-Step Walking Stabilizer is designed to increase independence and eliminate falling for those with neurological conditions (i.e. Parkinson Disease).

The U-Step provides more stability, maneuverability and control compared to other walking aids. Jonathan Miller’s mother was losing her independence due to a neurological condition that was affecting her walking ability. After she sought out help from physiatrists and physical therapists, who set her up with leg braces, a walker, and ten weeks of therapy, she was no better off. Jonathan envisioned

a walker that surrounded the person, which led to the "U" shaped base. After making a few prototypes, he developed the first U-Step walker. Encouraged by a family physician that saw how well his mother walked with the U-Step, he was inspired to start In-Step Mobility to help people walk safely and stay as independent as possible. Thousands of people have benefited from Pauline Miller's walker, including a former U.S. President and one of the most famous boxers of all time.

The Standard, Platform, and Press Down U-Steps share the same base, which means that the upper sections are all interchangeable. So if you have a condition that changes over time, you don’t have to buy a whole new walker, you can buy an upper section and swap them out.

The U-Step is the leading walker for neurological conditions (Parkinson’s, MS, stroke, ataxia, brain injury, etc) and also has Medicare coverage.

That’s a wrap from the World Parkinson Congress!

It was truly heartwarming seeing the Parkinson’s community, including individuals, support groups, therapists, and neurologists, come together in Phoenix, all unified to help improve the lives of those afflicted with Parkinson’s.

We’re grateful for everyone who stopped by, shared their stories, and connected with us.

“Because it’s so sturdy, it’s a little heavy.” We’ve heard this comment over the years. The extra weight at the base is a designed safety feature. Our patented U-shaped base has a very low center of gravity, which makes it ultra-stable and helps prevent people from falling.

Mitch here 👋 I'll be at the World Parkinson Congress next week with Jonathan Miller, the founder of In-Step Mobility (the maker of the U-Step). Drop any questions you have for him about the U-Step below.

Doug wrote to us about his travels to Switzerland with his U-Step:

“I just wanted to report to you on a trip from which I have just returned, which I'm sure merits the claim that my U-Step has traveled further and higher than any other.

I took it with me for a two week holiday to Switzerland, a trip I would not have attempted without it. In fact, I obtained the U-Step with this trip in mind, hoping it would make possible my making the trip. It did. My U-Step traveled more than 8,000 miles and was significantly helpful to me at Klein Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps, even at an altitude of 13,000' above sea level–although I could have used snow tires. 🙂

We changed trains a dozen times in Switzerland without a U-Step incident. The U-Step was checked on planes at the plane door, with the velcro tabs holding it together. No damage to it resulted.

The photo is me resting in front of the New Post Hotel in Zermatt, Switzerland after returning from Gornergrat and Klein Matterhorn.

Congratulations again on a most worthy invention and a durable product for traveling!”

This was an incredibly special moment. For the first time in her life, the girl in this video was able to walk. Using the Standard U-Step Neuro Walker with the Laser & Sound Cueing Module, the bright red laser line on the floor helped guide her steps. We’re truly honored to help her and her family reach an insipring milstone and create a lifelong memory.

The U-Step’s innovative braking system is easy to use and puts you in complete control. Our walker will not roll until you lightly squeeze either hand brake. Once you release the hand brake, it stops immediately.

Also seen in this video is our optional Tray & Basket accessory. It operates on sliding rails, so you can pull it close for easy access or push it away for sitting down.
