Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is proud to announce that Kristen Srna, MSN, RN, has accepted the role of Director of Nursing and will begin serving the organization during the first week of June 2026.
Kristen joins CCMC with a strong background in nursing leadership spanning critical access hospitals, regional health systems, and women’s health services. She currently serves as Director of the Birth & Women’s Center at Ascension Via Christi, where she leads strategic initiatives focused on quality improvement, staff engagement, leadership development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
A passionate advocate for rural healthcare, Kristen has built her career around strengthening clinical teams, standardizing evidence-based care, and developing future healthcare leaders. Prior to her current role, she served as Obstetric Manager at Benefis Health System and as Inpatient Nurse Manager at Memorial Hospital.
“Kristen brings an incredible combination of leadership experience, operational knowledge, and passion for rural healthcare,” said CEO Austin Gillard. “Her commitment to quality care, team development, and collaboration makes her an outstanding fit for our organization and the communities we serve.”
Throughout her career, Kristen has led numerous quality and safety initiatives, implemented simulation-based leadership training, and partnered with healthcare and community organizations to improve patient outcomes. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kansas Wesleyan University.
