The Greene County Commission is now accepting applications from eligible community organizations for the Opioid Settlement Program, which directs national opioid settlement dollars toward local efforts to address and recover from the opioid overdose epidemic.

A total of $260,000 is available, and organizations may apply for up to $50,000. Eligible projects must align with approved opioid prevention strategies, including naloxone distribution and training, medication assisted treatment, prevention programs, recovery services, support for pregnant and postpartum women, and services for first responders and justice involved individuals.

The need is significant. In 2023, 1,948 Missourians died from an overdose, and more than 70 percent of those deaths involved opioids.

Applications are available at greenecountymo.gov/osp and must be submitted to [email protected] no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 24, 2026.
