We are blessed in St. Louis with a nationally recognized botanical garden, with free admission to residents on Wednesday mornings. This was our 2nd time exploring; they have a tram, we load up and they drive us around and educate us on each individual garden and some of the plants. We have a tree there that went up into space as a sapling to research growth patterns in zero gravity! Very cool outing and we were fortunate to have high school student Aditya volunteer with us for it; it was his first visit to the garden.

One of our most popular programs is Artfully Aging, a watercolor class designed for senior citizens. Ann brings in a pre-drawn black-and-white sketch, along with a painted one, for each resident. She then walks around and helps them with technique, color selection and placement. Our residents eagerly look forward to it every month.

A great time was had at the wheelchair car wash! Pat wouldn’t go through without our marketing assistant and jack-of-all-trades, Aleigha. Ron insisted on a photo with the therapy crew, Katherine and Melissa, to thank them for helping him make it through. But the biggest laughs came from Mary Ann and Mary Jo, who came armed and ready to get the staff back for sending them under the sprinklers 😂 Mary Jo even brought a shower cap and went back through multiple times!!
