I’m heading to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, next week for the 2026 Bridging Knowledge to Know-How: Empowering Pennsylvania Educators and Partners!

Taking place August 4–7, 2026, this conference will bring together educators, community partners, families, and youth to explore practical strategies that connect research and knowledge with meaningful application.

Sessions will focus on autism, secondary transition, and supporting students with complex instructional needs. I’m looking forward to learning from presenters, gathering new ideas, and connecting with others who are committed to improving educational outcomes for students.

Most of all, I hope to see lots of familiar colleagues and friends there!

A few openings remain for speech-language therapy and specialized academic tutoring during the remainder of the summer. This can be a great time to strengthen skills, build confidence, and prepare for a successful return to school.

Services may address:

Openness and skepticism are not opposites. Scientific openness means being willing to examine a claim fairly; skepticism means withholding confidence until adequate evidence is available.

Being open-minded does not require treating every explanation as equally credible, nor does it require suspending established standards of evidence. Skinner consistently emphasized prediction, control, direct observation, and experimental analysis—not acceptance based on testimonials, popularity, or personal conviction.

Those who defend rigorous authorship testing, replication, and methodological safeguards are not rejecting openness. They are applying skepticism exactly where it is most necessary: when claims are consequential, difficult to verify, and vulnerable to inadvertent influence.

The more important question is whether the same evidentiary standards are being applied to claims we want to believe as to claims we doubt.
