The body follows what they mind tells it to do, so both need to be strong in order for the actions to be carried out. We offer a variety of programs to our clients: from creating packages for total mind and body wellness for our clients, privately, to follow so that they can get the most out of themselves, to doing public speaking and team building seminars to get your business people to work as one and be productive. We know that your needs are different from anyone else's, which is why we spend the time to not only get to know your professional goals, but also to get to know you personally. Say this out loud in a changing room and watch what happens.

"Give 110%" is the most repeated sentence in sport and one of the least useful, and it's not because effort doesn't matter. It's because it isn't an instruction. It's a mood.

You can't put it on film. You can't correct it. Nobody has ever run back the tape and found the exact moment someone gave 94%.

Worse, when it's tight and an athlete tries harder, what they actually do is start consciously steering a skill that used to run on its own. That's not grit. That's the mechanism of choking, handed over as advice.

And the real cost: "I left everything out there" is the most comfortable sentence in sport. It lets effort stand in for ex*****on and ends the conversation about why you lost.

Effort is the entry fee. It was never the performance.

Most athletes are building confidence on tactics that don't hold up.

So I ranked them.

Because half the "confidence hacks" out there feel good in the moment...

But collapse the second real pressure hits.

When someone better walks in the room.

When the routine you rely on breaks.

When the hype wears off and it's just you and the moment.

That's when borrowed confidence disappears — and built confidence takes over.

Twenty-five metres into the 200 butterfly final in Beijing, Michael Phelps' goggles filled with water.

He swam the last 175 metres of an Olympic final completely blind. He won. He set a world record. Nobody in the building knew anything had gone wrong.

People call that mental toughness. It wasn't. It was preparation so specific that the disaster had already happened to him, in his head every night, and in training, where his coach cracked his goggles on purpose so he'd have to swim without them.

He knew where the wall was because he'd counted his strokes.

"I was relaxed, because I reverted back to what I did in training."

The pressure didn't shrink. He'd just been there before.

Every team has one. The athlete who's untouchable at training and ordinary on game day.

Coaches call it a confidence problem. It usually isn't.

In practice you're looking at the target. In games you start looking at your own body, and the research on this is about as settled as sport science gets: attention on the outcome outperforms attention on your mechanics, consistently.

Then there's the second half of it. A skill you actually own runs automatically. Under pressure you take the wheel back and start steering it consciously. That's not nerves. That's the mechanism of choking, and it has a name in the literature.

Add a practice environment with no fatigue, no consequence and nobody trying to beat you, and the skill was never built to travel in the first place.

None of that is a character flaw. All of it is trainable.

Kobe is the most quoted athlete on this app and the least understood.

Mamba Mentality wasn't intensity. It was five behaviours, and every one of them shows up on a night you can look up.

Four airballs at 18, and a janitor who opened the gym. 800 makes before anyone arrived. Two free throws on a torn Achilles. Eighteen misses inside an 81-point game.

He wasn't fearless because he felt no fear. He said it himself: "I have self-doubt. I have fear of failure." He just refused to let it pick his shots.

Most athletes think mental toughness is something you're born with.

It isn't. It's five rules, and they're all trainable.

We've spent over a decade teaching these to some of the world's best athletes, and the ones who get unstoppable aren't the ones with the most talent. They're the ones who stopped waiting to feel ready and started building it on purpose.

Rule 3 is the one nobody wants to do.

Swipe through, then comment the number you're losing right now.

Save this one. You'll want it before your next game.

Most people celebrate the win and stop there.

Kobe didn't.

Because to him, a win was never the finish line, it was just proof he needed to keep going.

That's the mindset that turns "good" into "great."
