🚩 Your baby’s nervous system is learning through movement from day ONE. 🧠

And balanced movement starts with the head. 👀

When your baby consistently prefers looking ONE direction, they’re getting more movement practice and sensory input on that side.

Then rolling comes along…

And suddenly they’re only rolling one way. 🤯

That’s why I pay attention to a preferred head turn EARLY.

We want babies practicing movement to BOTH sides as their brain and body learn to work together. 💗

Hi, I’m Megan! 👋 I’m a pediatric physical therapist helping parents recognize preferred sides early and know what to work on at home.

Does your baby make a full body banana shape?

That’s a classic sign of tension in the body when they are in that position a lot.

We want them to be able to turn their head to the side and not have their body make that “c” shape.

Stretches and positioning for the win! 🏆

3 sessions.

Head movement now both ways.
Body stays straight with movement.

The key 🔑

Get support the moment you notice it.

1-3 sessions can make a world of difference.
This little man had significant improvement in just 3 sessions.

Is it just the neck or whole body tension?

Hi, I’m Dr. Megan, a pediatric physical therapist. I help parents get to the root of their baby’s movement so they can improve head shape with confidence instead of guesswork.

If you’re worried about a flat spot or preferred side, comment NOGGIN and I’ll send you the details. 💗

Most parents are told to reposition.

But if your baby keeps returning to the same side, positioning alone isn’t the answer.

I promise this wasn’t in the treatment plan. 🤣 One gentle stretch, one very relaxed baby, and one diaper that definitely needed changing. Sometimes pediatric PT keeps us humble. 💗 Dr. Megan

You notice your baby always looks to the right.

You mention it at the one-month checkup.

“Just keep doing tummy time.”

You leave that appointment believing…

“If I just keep doing tummy time, this will get better.”

You fit it in after diaper changes.

You lay on the floor making silly faces.

You buy the high-contrast cards.

You celebrate every extra 30 seconds they tolerate it.

Then you compare your baby’s head now to then…

You tilt your head. Are your eyes playing tricks on you? 🥴

The flat spot is more noticeable.

Their head still falls to the same side.

Now you’re wondering…

“I’ve been doing exactly what they told me. Why isn’t it working?”

Because tummy time was only 5% of the plan.
You momma did a beautiful job at that 5%.

You were never handed the rest of the 95% that actually creates the change.

If your baby has a movement preference
they’ll still spend most of their day putting pressure on the same spot unless that preference is addressed.

That’s why so many parents feel like they’re doing everything right…

yet nothing seems to change.

You don’t need to try harder.

You need a roadmap that addresses the movement causing the pressure in the first place.

If you caught your baby’s flat spot early,
that’s beautiful news.

The earlier you improve movement
the sooner you can start changing the pressure on their head.

Send me a DM and I’ll send you the free guide I wish every family received after their one month checkup with a flat spot emerging.
