🌿🍵 FROM THE FOREST TO MY TEACUP ✨

Today’s wild-foraged tea blend—courtesy of Shenandoah National Park— combines five beautiful herbs, each with its own history of traditional herbal use:

🌸 Red Clover — Rich in isoflavones (phytoestrogens) and traditionally used for women’s wellness, menopausal comfort, and skin and respiratory support.

💜 Heal-All (Self-Heal) — Traditionally used for immune, throat, digestive and skin support and contains naturally occurring antioxidant plant compounds.

🌸 Wild Bergamot / Bee Balm — An aromatic herb traditionally used for digestive and respiratory comfort. Its volatile compounds can include thymol and carvacrol.

🌿 Wild Basil — Traditionally enjoyed for digestive support and general wellness while adding a beautiful herbal aroma to the blend.

🍃 Lesser Burdock — The root is traditionally used to support digestion, elimination, skin and liver health. It also contains inulin, a prebiotic fiber that nourishes beneficial gut bacteria.

🍵 Fresh herbs don’t have to be dried before making tea! Leaves and flowers can be infused fresh. For tougher burdock root, I prefer a decoction—gently simmering it first, then using that preparation to steep the more delicate herbs.

One of the things I love most about herbalism is how it changes the way you experience nature. Once you learn to recognize individual plants, the forest is no longer simply a sea of green—it becomes an entire world waiting to be understood. 💚

⚠️ Never consume a foraged plant without positive identification. Traditional use does not guarantee safety or effectiveness, and herbs can interact with medications or health conditions.

💪 YOU’RE WORKING OUT… BUT ARE YOU ACTUALLY TRAINING?

There’s a difference between exercising and following a training plan with a clear direction.

You can show up consistently, sweat, burn calories, and still wonder why you aren’t getting stronger or seeing the progress you expected.

Here are 6 signs your workout routine may be missing a plan:

🔄 1. You do something different every workout.

Variety can be fun, but constantly changing exercises makes it difficult to master movements and measure improvement. Progress needs consistency.

📈 2. You don’t know if you’re getting stronger.

If you aren’t tracking your weights, reps, technique, or performance, it’s difficult to know whether you’re actually progressing.

🔥 3. You judge a workout by how exhausted you feel.

Sweating more doesn’t automatically mean you accomplished more. A productive workout should appropriately challenge your body—not simply leave you depleted.

Train with purpose, not punishment.

🏋🏽‍♀️ 4. You’re adding weight before mastering the movement.

Progressive overload matters—but so do technique, control, stability, and range of motion.

Build the foundation first. Then build upon it.

🔁 5. You keep “starting over.”

Next Monday. Next month. After vacation. After one bad week.

Sustainable fitness isn’t about being perfect. It’s about learning how to keep going when life isn’t.

🎯 6. You have workouts…but no progression.

A list of exercises tells you what to do today.

A training system shows you how what you’re doing today prepares you for tomorrow.

And that’s the difference.

I believe fitness should have direction:

🌱 LEARN — Master the movements.
💪 BUILD — Progress your strength.
🏆 MASTER — Train with confidence and control.

Learn → Build → Master.

That philosophy is at the heart of Holistify Me’s Body in Balance™, my new 12-week holistic strength and lifestyle coaching program.

🔆 Why Smarter Progression Builds Stronger, More Sustainable Results 🔆

When people decide they’re ready to get serious about fitness, there’s often an immediate temptation to go all in.

Lift heavier.
Train harder.
Push through every workout.
Do more.
Sweat more.

And somehow, “If I’m not exhausted, I must not be working hard enough” becomes the measure of whether a workout was successful.

But when someone is learning how to strength train, going harder isn’t necessarily what their body needs first.

Sometimes, the smartest thing you can do is slow down long enough to build the foundation that will eventually allow you to become stronger.

🌀 Fitness Should Be Progressive, Not Punishing

There’s absolutely a time and place for challenging yourself.

Your body adapts when it’s given a reason to adapt. Over time, increasing resistance, repetitions, training volume, or other demands can help you continue developing strength and muscle.

But progression works best when there is a solid foundation underneath it.

Before worrying about how much weight you can lift, you should first learn how to perform the movement well.

Before increasing intensity, you need to understand control and technique.

Before expecting yourself to follow a demanding routine indefinitely, you need to establish consistency.

And before continually asking your body to do more, you need to learn how to listen to it and recover from the work you’re already doing.

That’s why I don’t believe a beginner’s fitness journey should start with:

“How hard can I push myself?”

A better question is:

“What can I build from here?”

Getting fit shouldn’t only be about losing weight—and progress shouldn’t be measured solely by the number on the scale.

True fitness is about building a body that is strong, capable, well-fueled, mobile, and properly recovered.

That’s what I call a Body in Balance™.

💪 STRENGTH
Strength training helps build lean muscle, improve physical confidence, and create a stronger, more capable body for everyday life.

🤸‍♀️ MOBILITY
Being strong is only part of the equation. Mobility supports healthy movement, stability, control, and better exercise technique.

🥑 NUTRITION
Food isn’t something you have to “earn” through exercise—it’s fuel. Proper nutrition supports your energy, training, recovery, muscle development, and overall health.

😴 RECOVERY
More exercise isn’t always better. Sleep, hydration, rest, mobility, and stress management give your body the opportunity to recover and adapt.

🌱 CONSISTENCY
You don’t need perfect workouts or a perfect diet. You need healthy habits you can return to again and again.

Because fitness shouldn’t just change how your body looks. It should improve how your body moves, feels, functions, and supports your life.

Strength + Mobility + Nutrition + Recovery = A Body in Balance™ 🌿

Become stronger. Move better. Fuel your body. Recover intentionally. Build habits that last.

This philosophy became the foundation for something I’ve spent a LOT of time building.

Monday, I finally get to show you. 💜🌿

I want to heal all—so I grabbed some Heal-All. 💁🏻‍♀️✨

🌿 Heal-All: The Little Purple Herb with a Long History of Healing 🌿

Sometimes the most useful herbs aren’t exotic plants tucked away in distant forests or sold in expensive bottles. Sometimes they’re growing quietly beneath our feet.

Heal-all (Prunella vulgaris), also known as self-heal, is a small perennial herb traditionally used for wounds, irritated skin, sore throats, inflammation, and general wellness. Its names alone—heal-all and self-heal—tell us something about the reputation this little plant developed throughout traditional herbal medicine.

💜 But what does heal-all actually do?

Let’s explore the traditional uses, beneficial plant compounds, and practical ways this often-overlooked herb can be incorporated into herbal wellness.

💜 What Is Heal-All?

Heal-all (Prunella vulgaris) belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae).

Unlike strongly aromatic relatives such as peppermint, spearmint, and lemon balm, heal-all doesn’t have the intense minty fragrance many people associate with this plant family.

It is a low-growing perennial that commonly produces small purple to violet flowers clustered around a compact flower spike. It can be found growing in lawns, meadows, woodland edges, roadsides, trails, and other disturbed areas.

It grows throughout much of North America and many other parts of the world.

Historically, heal-all has been used in several traditional herbal systems, particularly for supporting the skin, mouth, throat, and inflammatory response.

You’re working out. You’re sweating. You’re showing up.

So why does it sometimes feel like you’re putting in all that effort without actually getting stronger or seeing the progress you expected?

The problem may not be how hard you’re working.
It may be that your workouts don’t have a clear direction.

Here are a few common reasons fitness routines stop producing results:

🌀 You’re constantly changing your workouts.

Variety can be great, but your body also needs consistency. When exercises change constantly, you never give yourself enough time to master the movements, improve your technique, and progressively become stronger.

🌀 There’s no progression.

Doing the same weight, reps, and intensity indefinitely gives your body very little reason to adapt.
Progressive training means gradually challenging yourself over time—whether that means improving your form, adding repetitions, increasing resistance, or developing greater control.

🌀 You’re focused more on calories burned than strength gained.

A workout doesn’t have to leave you completely exhausted to be effective. Instead of only asking, “How many calories did I burn?” start asking:

Am I getting stronger?
Is my form improving?
Can I perform this movement with better control?
Am I progressing from where I started?

🌀 You’re increasing weight before mastering your form.

Heavier isn’t automatically better.
Learning proper movement patterns first gives you the foundation you need to safely increase resistance and continue progressing.

🌀 You aren’t tracking your progress.

If you don’t know where you started, it’s difficult to recognize how far you’ve come.
Track your weights. Track your reps. Pay attention to your energy, strength, consistency, confidence, and how your body moves.
Progress isn't always something you see in the mirror.

🌀 You’re chasing perfection instead of consistency.

Missing one workout doesn't ruin your progress.
Having an imperfect week doesn't mean you need to start over.

The people who make lasting progress aren't necessarily the people who execute every week perfectly.

They're the people who keep coming back.

Effective training doesn’t have to be random, extreme, or constantly changing.

Learn the movements.
Build the foundation.
Progress with intention.
Stay consistent.

That’s where lasting strength is built.
And speaking of doing fitness a little differently... 👀

I’ve been working on something that takes a completely different approach to fitness—and I’m finally sharing it Monday.

Stay tuned. 🌿💪

When most people think of yoga or mobility training, they picture someone touching their toes, balancing in an advanced pose, or stretching on a yoga mat.

But yoga and mobility are about so much more than flexibility. They’re about helping your body move the way it was designed to move—comfortably, efficiently, and without unnecessary pain.

Whether you’re carrying groceries, climbing stairs, lifting weights, hiking a trail, playing with your children, or simply getting out of bed each morning, your body relies on healthy joints, strong muscles, and coordinated movement.

At Holistify Me, we believe mobility isn’t just something you practice during a workout. It’s something you carry into every movement throughout your day.

🔸 What Is Mobility?

Mobility is your ability to move a joint through its full range of motion with strength, control, and stability.
Unlike flexibility—which refers to how much a muscle can lengthen—mobility includes:

• Joint health
• Muscle strength
• Balance
• Coordination
• Stability
• Nervous system control

You may be flexible but still lack mobility.
Likewise, you may have strong muscles but limited movement because your joints don’t move efficiently.
True movement health requires both.

🔸Yoga vs. Mobility Training

Although they complement each other, they are not exactly the same.

Yoga focuses on:

• Flexibility
• Balance
• Breath awareness
• Mindfulness
• Strength
• Body awareness

Mobility training focuses on:

• Joint movement
• Active range of motion
• Stability
• Functional movement
• Injury prevention

Together, they create a powerful foundation for lifelong movement.

11/08/2026

Breathing is the first thing you do when you’re born and the last thing you do before you leave this world. Between those two moments, you’ll take roughly 20,000 breaths every day—yet most of them happen unconsciously.

What many people don’t realize is that the way you breathe can directly influence your thoughts, emotions, energy levels, heart rate, digestion, sleep, and overall health.

Your breath is far more than a survival mechanism.
It is one of the most powerful tools you have for healing your mind, body, and soul.

At Holistify Me, we believe wellness begins with simple practices that reconnect you with your body’s natural wisdom. Breathwork is one of those practices.

🌀 What Is Breathwork?

Breathwork is the intentional practice of controlling your breathing to influence your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

Unlike unconscious breathing, breathwork involves using specific breathing patterns to achieve different goals, such as:

• Reducing stress
• Increasing focus
• Boosting energy
• Supporting relaxation
• Processing emotions
• Improving physical performance

The incredible thing about breathwork is that it requires no equipment.

Your greatest healing tool has been with you all along.

🌀 Why Your Breath Matters

Every emotion has a breathing pattern.
Think about it.

When you’re anxious…

• Your breathing becomes:
• Fast
• Shallow
• Rapid

When you’re calm…

Your breathing becomes:

• Slow
• Deep
• Rhythmic

The relationship works both ways.
Your emotions affect your breathing—but your breathing also affects your emotions.

By intentionally slowing your breath, you can help signal to your nervous system that you’re safe.
