Can we brag on Shelly for a minute? Because THIS is the kind of progress I wish more women saw. ๐
A few weeks ago, Shelly had a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser coming up for work.
She had the dress. She had the headpiece. And she sent her coach, Coach Claudia, a message I think a lot of women can relate to:
โThe party is getting closer โ hope I can pull off this dress & head piece!โ
Wellโฆshe absolutely pulled it off. ๐ฅ
She wore the outfit, looked amazing, and started getting compliments from people who were noticing her progress too.
But the dress isnโt even the biggest win.
Shelly has now lost about 11 pounds, hit her lowest weight since starting, and has been consistently getting in her strength workouts โ even during crazy back-to-school weeks when work is BUSY.
And this hasnโt been one of those โeverything went perfectlyโ journeys.
Sheโs had catered meals at work, busy weeks when nutrition and logging felt harder, and a vacation where she had to be intentional about not falling into the mindless grazing that can happen when everyone is hanging out around food.
Sheโs also had moments when she wondered if the progress was happening fast enough.
Recently, Coach Claudia asked if she was feeling ๐ข or ๐ก.
Shelly answered:
โIโm def ๐ โ struggling in general. Iโm not giving up or quitting though! Just trying to find my footing with what has been a busier than usual busy season.โ
And THAT is exactly why weโre spotlighting her.
Progress isnโt never having a yellow-light week.
Itโs learning how to have one without disappearing on yourself.
And then Shelly got another win that had nothing to do with the scale.
Her recent bloodwork came back and she said:
โI was also excited about my A1C โ hasnโt been that low in a LONG time, so Iโm calling that a win!โ
So are we. ๐
Yes, losing 11 pounds feels good.
Having your clothes fit differently feels good.
Getting stronger and hearing compliments feels good.
But what I love most is that Shelly is learning how to keep going even when life isnโt perfect.
Sheโs still learning. Still adjusting. Still showing up.
And sometimes the most powerful progress sounds exactly like this:
โIโm strugglingโฆ but Iโm not quitting.โ
Shelly, we are SO proud of you.
And girlโฆyou absolutely pulled off that dress. ๐๐ฅ๐
