This morning, I found myself thinking about how often we believe we need to be doing something in order to be worthy of our own attention.
Growing.
Healing.
Learning.
Creating.
Becoming.
Even our rest can sometimes become another thing we're trying to do "right."
But what if, for just a little while, there was nothing to accomplish?
Nothing to figure out.
Nothing to improve.
Nothing to prove.
What if you could simply be here?
Exactly as you are.
I've been learning that returning to yourself doesn't always look like movement.
Sometimes it looks like stillness.
Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly with your coffee.
Sometimes it looks like taking a deep breath and realizing that, for this moment, nothing is asking anything of you.
The Shore has taught me that there is a rhythm to everything.
Tides move.
Tides rest.
And neither is more worthy than the other.
Maybe we can learn to trust our own seasons that way.
π Today's Shore Practice
Give yourself ten minutes today with nothing to accomplish.
No phone.
No journal prompt.
No meditation you need to complete.
Just be.
Notice what happens when you stop asking yourself to become something else.
π Tidewalker's Journal
What would it feel like to believe that you have nothing to prove today?
π A Blessing from the Shore
May you rest without guilt.
May you breathe without needing a reason.
May you remember that your worth has never depended on how much you accomplish.
And may you feel, even for a moment, the deep peace of simply being yourself.
π€ One week from today, we'll gather for THE RETURNING: The Gentle Return.
Perhaps that's the most beautiful invitation I can offer:
You don't have to arrive with anything figured out.
Just come as you are.
If your heart feels called, I'd be honored to welcome you.
Until then, may this Sunday give you permission to simply be.
Walk gently. π
