Mojave Watershed Welcome to the Mojave River Watershed Group! What is MRWG? What is stormwater pollution? Why is stormwater education so important to High Desert residents?

MRWG is an organization dedicated to educating the High Desert community (the City of Hesperia, the City of Victorville, the Town of Apple Valley and other unincorporated areas of the County of San Bernardino) about stormwater pollution prevention. Stormwater pollution, resulting from urban runoff, is a serious issue and is the single biggest environmental threat to the quality of our rivers, lake

s and other local waterways. It can have a detrimental effect on public health and harm the well-being of local wildlife. Stormwater pollution is unique in the High Desert due to its geographic make-up. Our watershed flows directly to the Mojave aqueduct which is the direct source of our drinking water. Protecting this precious resource for yourself and your family is vital to our High Desert community. The good news? Stormwater pollution is preventable. Through simple measures, we can reduce stormwater pollution and keep our communities clean. It is up to us to preserve the essence of the Mojave Desert. SUMMERTIME in the High Desert!



Longer days, sunny hikes, outdoor adventures, and time spent exploring the beauty of the Mojave River Watershed. But with warmer weather comes an important reminder: we all play a role in protecting the places we love.



This summer, help keep our watershed clean and healthy by following a few simple stewardship tips:

👉 Turn off running hoses

👉 Keep cars leak-free

Anything that enters a storm drain can end up in the Mojave River Watershed. That means litter left on sidewalks and streets doesn't just disappear – it travels.

Our team had a great time educating families about stormwater pollution and how simple actions can keep our High Desert water clean. From car washing tips to supply distribution, every small change makes a BIG impact! 💧
