Some relationship struggles are not about effort or intention, but about how each partner experiences and processes the world. When those differences are not understood, they can easily be misinterpreted as lack of care or follow-through.

The Gottman Method offers a way to make sense of those patterns and build connection in a way that works for both partners. If you or someone you know would like assistance, I'm Gottman-trained and licensed to work in Virginia and Florida.

The Gottman Method can provide couples with the skills and knowledge that their relationships need to understand one another and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

Trust is one of those things most couples assume will just be there. It is often not until something happens that shakes that foundation that couples begin to see how much trust shapes everything. How safe it feels to be open, how conflict is handled, and how each partner interprets the other’s actions.

When trust is strained or broken, it does not just affect one area of the relationship. It tends to show up everywhere. This article explores what happens when trust is missing and what it actually takes to rebuild it.

Create a healthy & happy marriage with these tips for building and/or rebuilding trust between spouses.

Do you and your partner keep having the same fight, just with different details?

Often, the issue is not the dishes, money, intimacy, or schedules. It is the pattern the couple gets pulled into together. I just published my first blog post exploring why couples get stuck in these cycles and how to begin shifting them.

When conversations speed up, connection breaks down. Slowing things down is where change begins.

Relationships are shifting in ways that are not always obvious at first. What used to be seen as distance or disconnection is sometimes better understood as a different way of relating. At the same time, couples are still navigating the same core questions around connection, understanding, and how to stay engaged over time. This article looks at some of the emerging patterns in how couples relate today.

On a recent walk-and-talk therapy session, we were joined by this little family by the pond. Being outside—moving, noticing, pausing—can make it a little easier to talk and reflect.

Most of my work is online, but sessions like this are a reminder that therapy doesn’t have to look just one way.
