As someone who works with healthcare professionals, military personnel, law enforcement officers, and ethnic minorities, I know firsthand how stressful these professions can be. I support causes that make a difference!

I am walking a 15K on July 20 during the hottest time of the year in Virginia because the cause I am walking for matters.

Azz-ert Urself! Inc has partnered with Jeanna's iFeed on this fundraiser because many people do not have access to healthy foods, which means that these individuals are at a higher risk of mental health challenges.

Our health is our wealth.

Less than 2 years ago there was a mass shooting in Chesapeake Virginia.

Almost 4 years ago there was one in Virginia Beach VA.

And you and I know there have been numerous mass shootings around this country.

Most people rant about the mass shootings but are we looking deeper into the problem.

What if the persons who did these shootings had mental health problems that were addressed or that were ignored because they did not have access to mental health services or even know how to access those that were available.

That is why I am walking to get a darker tan on July 20.

I want our community to have better access to healthy food.

I want our community to have better access to competent health professionals.

I want to continue to expand the conversation on mental health to STAMP out mental health stigma.
