The skin is a two-way permeable barrier.
Cupping affects every part of our anatomy, so choosing to add post-treatment recommendations like covering the cupped area (excluding the face) is best.
The skin controls internal temperature regulatory processes (along with circulatory and muscular systems). Cupping supports and enhances these processes, leaving surface anatomy more vulnerable to invasive pathogens. And pathogens are not solely proprietary to alternative medicine practices, substances like smoke, fumes, and extreme temperatures will always cause reactions to our skin.
Some say no to the need to teach this, others (like me) say yes.
I will always ensure this topic is discussed at our courses, no matter your professional background.
This is not TCM, its physiology, and general wellness cupping practices.
