Our Pre-K friends have been busy becoming little weather scientists! 🔍 last week, we explored weather through hands-on experiments, art, sensory play, and lots of observation.

We painted sunshine, practiced the colors of the rainbow, created and explored fluffy clouds, experimented with ice and melting, and even took our learning outside to investigate shadows and sunlight. We also used our binoculars to look closely at the world around us and notice what we could see in the sky and our environment. ☀️☁️🧊🌈

These activities gave our kiddos opportunities to make predictions, observe changes, ask questions, explore with their senses, build new vocabulary, and create their own representations of weather concepts—all while getting a little messy along the way!

🎶🫧 A Week Full of Learning & Fun in our Lockwood ECE center! 🫧🎶

We had so much fun learning and exploring this week! 💛

🎵 Music & Movement: We turned up the music and had a bubble party! 🫧 The children danced, moved, and had a blast popping and chasing bubbles!

🔤 Letter Ll: We’ve been learning all about the letter L! We practiced the sound it makes, talked about words that begin with L, and worked on writing both uppercase L and lowercase l. ✏️📚

🧼 Sensory Fun: For sensory time, we washed toy food and toys in soapy water! The children loved splashing, scrubbing, and exploring while building their fine-motor and sensory skills. 🫧🧽

We love making learning hands-on, active, and FUN! 🌟💙

☀️🖍️ Little Scientists at Work! 🔬🌈

Our Lockwood ECE friends had so much fun with a prediction project! Before getting started, the children talked about the different colors of crayons and made predictions about whether they thought the crayons would melt.

Then came the big question: Which color of paper would get hotter and make the crayons melt the fastest? 🤔☀️

Each child wrote down their prediction before we tested it. Then we waited to see what would happen!

✨ Our results: All of the crayons melted, but the crayons on the black paper melted faster and more than the others!

This hands-on experiment was a great way for our children to practice making predictions, recording their ideas, observing changes, and learning about heat and colors—all while having fun! 🖍️🔬❤️

We love watching our little scientists ask questions, make guesses, and discover the answers for themselves! 🌟
