Kaweah Health launched the EveryBODY Moves Mobility Program in August across several hospital units. The goal is simple: make safe movement a routine part of daily care to support better patient outcomes and recovery.

Patients who spend most of their hospital stay in bed can face challenges that may affect their health and recovery. That’s why mobility starts early and can look different for every patient.

It may mean sitting at the edge of the bed, standing for daily weights, doing exercises in bed or walking around the unit with a nurse.

By making movement part of everyday care, we’re working together to help patients recover and improve their hospital experience.

Our Dialysis Center team cares for more than your condition. We help you navigate the challenges that come with it.

Meet Rocio Zavala, a nephrology social worker at our Dialysis Center who helps patients access resources, overcome barriers, and navigate their care. She works closely with patients and families to ensure they feel informed and supported. As a certified Spanish translator, Rocio also works closely with Spanish-speaking patients to create a space where they feel comfortable asking questions.

From connecting patients to food programs and transportation, to guiding them through the complex kidney transplant process, our team is here to support every part of your journey.

“You’re not alone in this,” Rocio shares. “I’m here to walk alongside you and make sure you feel supported every step of the way.”

Changes to Medicaid and Medi-Cal could have a significant impact on healthcare in our community.

Kaweah Health CEO Marc Mertz discusses how H.R. 1 could affect Kaweah Health, including an estimated $40 million reduction in annual revenue when the changes are fully implemented. The legislation includes changes that could reduce Medicaid enrollment and limit certain supplemental Medi-Cal payments to hospitals. The impact could begin as early as 2027, making it important to understand what these changes could mean for patients, healthcare providers and our region.
