The holidays are tough for many people who are grieving. Seeing a therapist doesn't mean there's something "wrong" with you. It can be preventative too.

Why I Go to Coffee Shops: Breaking the Isolation Barrier

Isolation is a dangerous mental and well as physical health risk.
Getting out of the house and meeting friends is the best way to build bridges back into the community.
Maybe a less angry, more sympathetic world is a shared cup of tea away.

As a nurse for the past 20 years, I've developed a passion for working for people with psychiatric conditions. I feel comfortable with all psychiatric diagnoses but am most passionate about ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression.
Therapy is an important part of my practice and I ensure patients are educated on choices and medication. I have worked with all ages but particularly like working with kids, teenagers and older adults.
I am a graduate of Tulane University and later earned by nursing degree at New York University (NYU). I completed my nurse practioner work at Frontier Nursing University.
From the beginning, you are part of your own treatment team. I am the expert on treatment options but you are the expert on you. It’s important to me that we communicate openly and you feel respected and supported even when we are working on challenging things.
You can expect clear goals in therapy and with medication, if that is a part of your treatment plan. You can also expect flexibility and willingness to alter treatment if something we are trying is not working.
