A nurse said this to my client moments after she arrived in her recovery room following an unplanned C-section:

"Well, a healthy mom and a healthy baby is all that matters, right?"

There is some truth to that statement. Every family wants mom and baby to be healthy and well during and after childbirth❤️‍🩹

But that is the bare minimum, not the whole picture❕

Beyond health, families often have hopes and goals for their birth experience. Maybe they desire a low-intervention birth, an unmedicated birth, a peaceful birth, an empowering birth, or simply the opportunity to feel informed, respected, and involved in the decisions being made🫶🏼

When those hopes are suddenly turned upside down, hearing, "All that matters is a healthy mom and healthy baby" can feel incredibly dismissive.

If you've ever felt hurt by that statement, I want you to know that it is not selfish to want more for your birth experience than simply walking away physically healthy.

Because health isn't only physical.
It is emotional.�It is mental.�It is spiritual.

And if your birth didn't go the way you hoped, it's okay to grieve that experience while also feeling immense gratitude for your baby's arrival and wellbeing. Joy and grief can coexist. You can be thankful for the outcome and still mourn the experience you lost.

At ASC Doula Co., our heart is to help families feel seen, heard, informed, and supported - not only as they prepare for their birth goals, but also as they process the unexpected turns that birth can sometimes take.
Your feelings matter.�Your experience matters.�And your story deserves space to be told.

Three years ago today, I attended my first birth🤍

I walked into that birth excited to learn and serve, but I never could have imagined where that experience would lead. Three years later, I’m still in awe of the privilege it is to be invited into such sacred moments🥹

Over the last three years, I’ve witnessed incredible strength, resilience, and love. I’ve seen firsthand how much it matters for families to feel supported, informed, and cared for during such a transformative season❕❕

What began as an interest has grown into something I truly love! It has stretched me, humbled me, challenged me, and given me the opportunity to serve families during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives🤰

To every family who has trusted me with a small role in your story: thank you!! It is an honor I never take for granted🤍

And thank You, Jesus, for opening doors I never could have planned for myself and for faithfully guiding each step along the way💓

I figured it was time for a reintroduction🤗

Hi, I’m Carly!
I’m a birth and postpartum doula, placenta encapsulator, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and the owner of ASC Doula Co., serving families throughout the Triangle area.

A few years ago, I attended my first birth, not fully realizing how much it would impact my life. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and with each family, my love for this work continues to grow🫶🏼

More than anything, I believe the Lord has called me to this work!! Time and time again, I’ve watched Him show up in birth spaces, bring peace in the chaos, and remind families of their strength and capability. It is such a gift to witness the beginning of new life and to support families during one of the most beautiful and transformative seasons they’ll ever experience🥰

At ASC Doula Co., we believe every family deserves to feel heard, seen, supported, and educated. We strive to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that honors each family’s unique goals while helping them make informed decisions with confidence❣️ We offer birth doula services, postpartum support, placenta encapsulation, and lactation support.

We deeply value and trust the way God designed pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and we strive to support families in a way that honors that design while meeting them where they are🤰

🤍 Jesus!! My faith is the foundation of everything I do, and I am so grateful for the ways He continues to guide my life and work. I attend Celebration Church in Raleigh and love my church family there.
🤍 My family and friends. I’m the youngest of six girls, and my sisters are some of my best friends!
🤍 Crafting🪡 Whether it’s sewing, watercolor, or another creative project, I love creating✨
🤍 Being outside🌳 Give me sunshine, a walk, a beach day, or time by the pool, and I’m happy.
🤍 Coffee☕️ I’m always down to grab coffee from a local shop😍

Tree of Life 😍✨

The placenta is an incredible organ created during pregnancy that attaches to the uterus and sustains your baby throughout gestation. It delivers nutrients and oxygen through the umbilical cord while helping filter waste. After your baby is born, the placenta detaches from the uterine wall and is delivered as well.

I’m forever amazed by God’s intentional design and the beauty of His creation🤍

And for many families, the placenta’s purpose doesn’t have to end there! Placenta encapsulation may offer postpartum benefits such as supporting hormone balance, aiding milk production, and helping the body recover after birth.
