Showing love and kindness is FAR deeper than gift giving.

DO YOU FEEL THAT?

The urge to PAUSE?

When we pause to give our time and attention to someone, to really hear and understand or support them (or ourselves!), THAT IS ACTIVE KINDNESS!

But we need to PAUSE and consciously make effort to open our heart.

We can get distracted and disconnected from ourselves and others, in the busyness of holidays and in the cold of Winter.

That’s right!

No ‘yoga pants’
No mat or props
No postures or cued movements

ALL I did was

Inhale

Exhale

Move one step at a time…

Purposefully aware of each cluster of leaves I mowed

Paying attention to each row of blades of grass I went over

Fueling the mower -and myself- when necessary

Showing patience when I had obstacles like fallen branches in my way.

Genuinely taking in the process:
forward and back,
mow,
empty the bag,

Sun on my face, Sun on my back…

Appreciating the final product of a lawn ready for winter.

Yoga practice on our mat is SO valuable; for what it is on its own, but even MORE for how it better equips us for life.
