Burnout can look a lot like laziness from the outside - or from your deep inner mean girl.
For women who’ve always prided themselves on their hard work ethic, their ambition and drive, their edge…
…feeling less motivated or “lazy” can feel like FAILURE.
But when this is happening, the last thing we need is to blame ourselves, beat up on ourselves, or even force ourselves to work harder.
What we need is to recognize that this “laziness” is actually a message: we’ve been pushing too hard, for too long.
Our nervous system has been stuck in survival mode for far too long.
And we can’t operate that way any longer.
The real fix?
First, give yourself some grace.
Second, allow yourself to pause.
Third, learn how to shift your nervous system out of survival mode.
And when you start doing those things, you might realize there’s other changes you want to make to the context of your life - that maybe the way you’re living and working is pushing you past capacity.
But it’s hard to know what those changes would be, until you can start giving your nervous system a rest from constant crisis-mode.
I absolutely love supporting women with this work because, in all honesty, it’s changed my own life.
And I just created a free training that breaks down the exact 3-part process I guide my clients through to help them heal burnout for good- and without quitting their jobs or spending half their life on self-care.
