Launching Womb Within Collective has enriched this community and our personal lives in all the ways we had hoped, as well as in ways we didn't expect.

Our passion for individualized, compassionate care for our clients is shared within the collective. No matter who you choose primary care from, the core values are the same. All of our doulas believe in meeting you where you're at and giving you the respect you deserve. Nothing less.

We believe we can better support our clients with collective care. This may look like direct support from multiple doulas, or simply by the fact that your doula has access to the wisdom of everyone in the collective.

Working as a team allows our doulas to rest and recover so we can show up for you 100%. We are completely devoted to providing the support you deserve. And a personal bonus: it's really fun working with a team of women who have the same passion to show up for birthing people!

From everyone in the collective to you all: thank you for your support and trust in us! It means the world. We are honored to be supporting this community 🩷

Moving through birth comes from within. If you are planning on unmedicated and haven’t yet read birthing from within or spiritual midwifery, I highly recommend them.

Having mental blocks show up physically in labor. This can be the most important tool of all and applied to every birth type and birth goal.

Understanding that slowing the breath and releasing all the tension allows for intensity to build and flow rather than stop and create pain is what helped me the most.

Other tools not mentioned:
Music/sound: I danced all lot during my first early labor, the second I listened to a sound bath that felt like waves. Birth felt like waves that I could float on instead of fight

Other tools:
Birth comb: never used it. Would have loved it for the 3 failed IV attempts at 9cm 🤪
Tens unit: never used one personally
Counter pressure: it CARRIED me through my first during transition

What are some of your top tools?? 👇

Bringing home a new baby is beautiful and exciting, but it can also bring feelings of overwhelm and anxiety. We are not meant to go into this stage of life alone.

Postpartum doulas are an excellent resource to bring into your circle of support. Our doulas meet with you prenatally to discuss postpartum planning so you feel confident bringing home your baby and knowing you will have a space to properly heal.

From helping with newborn care and offering clarity to newborn behaviors, ensuring your are staying nourished and hydrated, or doing light housekeeping such as baby laundry or bottle washing, doulas are an excellent resource!

If this resonates with you, I encourage you to set up a free consultation with our postpartum doulas! Visit www.wombwithin.com or you can DM us POSTPARTUM and we will help you!

DITL as a Doula — 46hr Induction Labor & Delivery 💫

There’s one thing we can guarantee, it is that birth is unpredictable. Labor, especially with inductions and the use of augmentations, takes time, trust and a lot of conversations.

As a doula, I’m not only going to join you in active labor. However I am only human so yes, I will make sure you’re coping well and give restful suggestions before joining you. There are conversations happening before, check-ins while I take breaks and time to rest. Communication with your team (nurses & providers) is a large part of this role and one of the most important parts! It’s also key to note that doulas do not work for the hospitals or providers, we work with them and for YOU!

Our Mom Walks happen every Friday morning 💫
9:00 am • Summer Hours
10:00 am • September - May

Join us and connect with other people going through this journey. We are in it together and even bring our own kids! Hope to see you there. Bring a friend to walk with and meet new ones 💕

Meet us at the front parking lot of Murr Field by the baseball field. Bring your baby, stroller, carriers, or bikes for the little ones.

We don’t start walking until 10 minutes after the hour, so if you are rushing out the door, send a text to 509-301-0523.

Walk time: each lap takes approx. 20 minutes, do 1 or stay for the full hour. There are benches for you to stop and feed baby along the way.

✨Stage 3 of Labor & Delivery✨

Once you meet your baby, there is a 3rd stage of labor. This is when your body will keep contracting to help release the placenta.

✨This stage can be supported with gravity, skin to skin with baby and starting the breastfeed when baby shows signs to feed. All of which will increase oxytocin.

✨This can be managed safely in many births by observing and encouraging physiology. I encourage everyone to talk with their provider about this stage. Learn your options in a birth class and know the benefits, risks and variations of this stage.

✨If more support is needed to manage blood loss and the release of the placenta, providers may utilize various methods such as Pitocin, Misoprostol (other medications are available for PPH), traction of the cord (pulling on the cord), and fundal massage.

We love the people we work with 🥹

It is such a honor to support families during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. This work at its core is about connection. We are here to walk through experiences alongside you — providing information, educated and intuitive support and comfort in the unknowns.

When reaching out for doula support, we encourage you to find a provider you connect with. And we genuinely love connecting people with support, whether it be with our doulas or local doulas in the surrounding area! Everyone deserves intentional care through the transitions.

When meeting a doula here are a few questions to ask:
💛 what is your approach and philosophy about birth?
💛 what drew you to this work and why?
💛 how do you advocate for clients during birth?
💛 most importantly, listen to your gut! The right fit will be easy to talk to and meet you where you’re at.

If you’re expecting, reach out! We can help connect you with a doula, providers and resources. ✨
