It’s Friday, and that means it’s time to celebrate the ! 💙 This month’s Art Opening brought residents and associates together for a heartfelt celebration of creativity through art and poetry. 🎨📖​

​Marione E. recited poetry from Between Lakes by Jeffrey Harrison, Leslie R. shared a touching poem and Peter M. spoke about the inspiration behind his painting. Associate Susan W., one of the friendly faces at our front desk, joined in the celebration too.

There’s always something new to discover at Worcester Art Museum! 🎨​

​Resident Celeste H. got an up-close look at the remarkable craftsmanship of the museum’s suits of armor during a recent visit. New Pond Village residents also enjoyed exploring the newly redesigned American Art Galleries, featuring more than 130 works spanning the colonial period through the 19th century.​

Thank you, Worcester Art Museum, for an inspiring fall day filled with art, history and plenty of curiosity.

🏛️ History, friendship and a resident-led adventure! Our recent outing took us to "Peacefield," part of Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, with resident Jean H. leading the way. 💙​

​Our group explored the historic home before continuing on to the library building and carriage house. ✨​

Living in Massachusetts means there’s always more history to discover, especially when you can experience it together. 🚌🍂 ​

Retired? Not quite. ✏️ For this , the work he loves continues. Jerry R. built a career as a medical illustrator and today still consults, takes calls and creates from the art table in his apartment home at New Pond Village.​

“I thought everything would stop,” Jerry says. “It didn’t.”​

Working alongside Activities Director Carolyn Roycroft, Marie helps create the trips, programs and special moments that make each day engaging and fun. From leading morning steps with our Walking Club on Wednesdays 👟 to coordinating popular outings 🚌 and—her personal favorite—mixing cocktails and conversation during Village Club social hours 🍹, Marie helps make every day one to look forward to.​
