On Friday, September 18, from 4:00–5:30 PM, we’ll gather at the Palisades Library in Washington, DC for Pages for Paris: A Community Read-A-Thon benefiting Reading Is Fundamental (RIF).
This special event honors the memory of Paris Major—a beloved Speech For The Stars tutor, DCPS educator, and passionate advocate for children’s literacy. Paris dedicated her life to helping children discover the joy of reading, and her kindness and commitment to education continue to inspire us every day.
In honor of Paris’s love for teaching, her family selected Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) as the organization to receive donations in her memory. As the nation’s leading children’s literacy nonprofit, RIF helps ensure every child has access to the books and resources they need to become confident, lifelong readers. Whether or not you had the opportunity to know Paris personally, we hope you’ll join us. In celebration of National Literacy Month, let’s come together to honor Paris’s legacy by sharing the gift of reading with the next generation.
Visit the link in our bio to make your donation to RIF and register for the event. Registration closes September 4.
