Many teens experience disordered eating, but some are at higher risk than others. This cross-sectional study of over 47,000 youths investigated how childhood hardships related to disordered eating behaviors. Poverty and household mental illness had the strongest links to multiple disordered eating patterns. These patterns were partly explained by depression, anxiety, and food insecurity. These findings may help families and providers identify early risk factors for disordered eating behaviors and offer support and prevention strategies. https://twp.ai/NSZjev
