Independent laboratories are essential to sound environmental policy.

Today, Mike Oscar, ACIL’s Government Relations Director, addressed the Oregon Environmental Laboratory Association (OELA) annual meeting, providing a political, legislative, and regulatory update on the issues shaping the environmental laboratory community.

The discussion focused on the intersection of EPA regulation, water infrastructure, environmental remediation, agriculture, and public health—and the critical role independent laboratories play in testing under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and Safe Drinking Water Act.

As environmental testing requirements continue to evolve, ACIL will continue advocating for policies that recognize the expertise, independence, and essential role of laboratories in protecting public health and the environment.

Thank you to OELA for the opportunity to connect with Oregon’s environmental laboratory leaders and discuss the issues that matter to their businesses and the communities they serve.
