For a long time, I felt like I had lost a little bit of myself.
After two pregnancies, I didn’t feel comfortable in my body anymore. I avoided mirrors, hid behind oversized clothes, and even though I wasn’t pregnant anymore, being asked if I was really affected me.
I knew I wanted something different—not just for me, but for my daughters. I wanted to be in the pictures with them. I wanted the energy to be present in their lives. And I wanted them to see their mom taking care of herself.
I had tried diets before, only to gain the weight back within a year. This time, I wanted something I could actually live with.
Over the last 8½ years, I’ve learned what works for me: a high-protein, low-carb lifestyle, movement, consistency, and a little of my own “Mom Magic.” I’ve lost 30 pounds and 10 pant sizes, built lean muscle, and most importantly, maintained those changes for more than six years.
But the biggest change wasn’t a number on the scale.
It was getting my energy, focus, confidence, and curiosity back.
It was rediscovering Christina Christina—not just Mom Christina.
And food has been such a big part of that journey. As a Cuban American, I grew up surrounded by food, family, stories, and culture. Traveling to 27 countries across six continents only made me fall more in love with the way food connects us.
Today, I love creating high-protein, low-carb recipes inspired by the flavors and traditions I’ve experienced around the world.
Because I’ve learned that healthy living doesn’t have to mean giving up the things you love. For me, it’s been about finding a way to make health, family, food, travel, and dreams all fit into the same life.
*What’s one part of yourself you’d love to reconnect with?*
