Episode 51: What This Work Has Taught Me (Part 2) After years of coaching, conversations, workshops, tears, breakthroughs, setbacks, and growth… this episode reflects on what this work has ultimately taught me. Not just about health or weight loss—but about us as people. About self-worth. About nervous systems. About identity. About compassion. About the stories we carry. About self worth. This work has always been so much deeper than food, weight, or habits alone. It’s about learning how to become the kind of person who can lovingly lead themselves through life. I hope this episode feels like both a reflection and a reminder: You are not behind. And change is possible. 🎧 Available now wherever you listen to podcasts.

EPISODE 50: My Next Chapter - In this episode, I’m sharing the announcement of my next chapter as I begin winding down the live teaching of my programs and step into a new season of life. It’s a mix of emotions… gratitude, mourning, clarity, and deep reflection. Woven into this conversation, I also begin a reflection on what this work has taught me. Not just strategies or tools… but the deeper truths about change, identity, self-worth, and what it really means to learn how to lead ourselves. This list continues and expands in Episode 51. If you’re in a transition season too—ending, beginning, or somewhere in between—I hope this meets you there. 🎧 Episode 50 is now live wherever you listen to podcasts.

My daffodils are blooming. I planted those bulbs months ago and for a long time nothing happened—no growth I could see, no sign it was working. And isn’t that how it feels sometimes? You’re making changes, showing up, making better decisions… but not seeing results yet. So your brain starts asking, “Is this even working?” The most important growth happens before you can see it, and your life is built in the decisions you make ahead of time. You don’t get the harvest first—you get it later, but only if you plant. So keep going. Your future self is already growing from what you’re doing today. 🎧 New episode is live—link in bio

What would change if you knew your time was limited? I had a dream that I only had two months to live. And what stayed with me wasn’t fear… it was clarity. The things I spend so much time worrying about? They didn’t matter. Self-criticism. Body obsession. Old regrets. Judging myself. None of it made the list. Instead, all I wanted was: time with my family, experiences with my husband, to feel the world around me, to appreciate this body—not for how it looks, but for how it lets me live. It made me realize how much of our lives get consumed by what I now call the great distractions. And how different things could feel if we paused long enough to ask: what would I let go of? What would I choose again on purpose? Because here’s the truth… we don’t need a diagnosis to start living that way. I’d love to know—what would rise to the top of your list?

I accidentally skied an “experts only” run. Twice. My legs were on fire, then they completely gave out and I slid down on my butt. Humbling doesn’t even cover it. And on the drive home I realized… this is exactly what happens in weight loss. We rely on willpower, take on expert-level changes too fast, burn out, and then decide something is wrong with us. Nothing is wrong with you. Willpower runs out. Capacity has to be built. Real change doesn’t come from massive action — it comes from small, repeatable skills practiced over time. If you’ve ever quit early, felt exhausted, or told yourself “I just don’t have discipline,” this episode is for you. New podcast episode is live 🎧 Link in Bio!

If you feel off track, read this: you’re not failing—you’re human. Health was never meant to be all-or-nothing. Just like an airplane, we drift and then correct course. That’s how we arrive. When your vision for health is about who you’re becoming, not just a number on the scale, being off course stops meaning “start over.” 🎧 The new podcast episode is live—link in bio.

Change doesn’t usually feel magical at the beginning. It feels awkward, slow, and easy to doubt. And that’s often the moment people decide, “Maybe this just isn’t who I am.” But here’s the truth I want you to hear today: your brain is designed to change. Your patterns are learned, and what’s learned can be rewired with time, safety, and repetition. This work isn’t about forcing yourself to be better. It’s about noticing when you’re on autopilot and choosing a new response. That pause, that moment of awareness, is where real change begins. Stay long enough to meet the version of you who no longer has to fight herself. She’s being built quietly right now. You’re not behind. You’re in process.

You’re not stuck because you can’t change. You’re stuck because you’ve been living on autopilot. As long as you’re breathing, you still have agency. You get to decide how you relate to food, your body, and your past. In this episode, I talk about what it really looks like to move from autopilot to agency—and why lasting weight loss starts there, not with another plan 🎧 Listen to the latest episode of Wellness Mastery with Jen Hoyer. Have you ever noticed that just when things start going really well, something inside you pulls you back? Old habits resurface, motivation dips, and a quiet thought creeps in: “This probably won’t last anyway.” In this podcast episode, I’m unpacking the Upper Limit Problem — the way our brains and bodies are wired to return to what feels familiar, even when that familiarity isn’t serving us. We’ll talk about how this shows up in weight loss, habits, and self-sabotage, and how our beliefs and identity quietly shape what we allow ourselves to achieve and maintain. If you’ve ever wondered why lasting change can feel so unattainable, this episode will help it finally make sense. 🎧 Listen now wherever you get your podcasts.
