This heat the past few days in Alaska has been reminding me of West Texas. Where a small piece of my heart lies underneath the juicy prickly pear, and the ever so sweet smelling mesquite bush. A land so fierce and vile you need to have soles on your pants. Growing up in the prairie of Oklahoma, I washed to lush prairie grass and few small pokey plants, and of course snakes, and a few cactus as well. But nothing like West Texas. It was hot and harsh. It really makes me attempt to enjoy this Alaska heat wave 🤣 no air conditioning up here is a practice I'm beginning to question.
