Heritage Village of Waterville has the perfect views!

We are enjoying watching the progress on the Roche de Boeuf Bridge! The rock formation under the bridge once served as a council meeting site for Native American Tribes, including the Shawnee, Miami and Lenape tribes. Noting that the area was formed similar to a buffalo they called it Roche de Boeuf (translating to Rock of Beef or Buffalo Rock). The rock was partially destroyed when the Interurban bridge was built but what remains is considered to be an important historical and geographical landmark, forever joined to the bridge which has come to share its name. Great pains are being taken to preserve this landmark while renovating the bridge.

When visiting your friends and loved ones, please consider spending time on our Rivers Edge Balcony to enjoy the view! Tables and chairs are available if you wish to have a picnic!

Lucy brings an extensive background in case management and working with the aging population. When asked what she finds most rewarding about her role, Lucy shared that advocating for our residents is the most meaningful and important part of what she does.

We’re excited to have Lucy as part of the Heritage Village family! If you’re visiting the facility, be sure to say hello and help us give her a warm welcome. 👋

Meet Director of Nursing Dan Meier!

Dan came to Heritage Village of Waterville in January with over twenty years of experience as a registered nurse. Having served as a Director of Nursing for a significant portion of his career, Dan brings a wealth of skill, knowledge and compassion to the table.

When asked why he chose a role in healthcare, Dan states that he knew he wanted to help people since childhood. When he was 10, his grandmother became paralyzed and remained in a wheelchair for 10 years. For Dan, being the Director of Nursing is not just a career, it is a deeply personal mission to bring care and comfort to our residents.

It may be hot here in Waterville, but our residents’ garden is loving every minute of it!

While we’re all looking for ways to stay cool, our flowers and vegetables are thriving, and it looks like one of our feathered visitors has found the perfect way to beat the heat too. 🐦💦

Our little feathered friend even upgraded its home with what looks like an infinity pool! We’d say that’s a pretty smart way to spend a summer day.

✌️🕺 We had such a groovy time celebrating our ’70s & ’80s Party! 🎶💿

Residents and team members stepped back in time with colorful outfits, classic tunes, and plenty of nostalgic fun. The celebration included favorite decade-inspired treats like ambrosia salad and pineapple upside-down cake before everyone gathered to enjoy a screening of Grease.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration so special and to our residents for bringing the fun! 💙
